RESOLUTION NO. 72R- 77
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM RELATING TO THE STRONG-MOTION
INSTRUMENTATION PROGRAM (EARTHQUAKE SAFETY)
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND ESTABLISHING
THE FEES FOR THE AUGMENTATION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, effective March 4, 1972, the State of
California enacted a Stong-Motion Instrumentation Program
pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 8 (commencing with Section
2700) of Division 2 of the Public Resources Codei and
WHEREAS, Section 2705 of the Public Resources Code
provides that all counties and cities shall collect a fee from
all applicants for construction permits which shall be equal
to .007 percent of the estimated construction cost of the
structure, and
WHEREAS, Section 2701 of the Public Resources Code
provides that the Division of Mines and Geology of the Depart-
ment of Conservation shall organize and monitor the .proqram:
and
WHEREAS, the City Council does dete~ine that it is
in the best interests of the people of the City of Anaheim
to collect said fee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that effective March 4, 197~ the City
Development Services Department shall collect a fee of .007
percent of the estimated construction cost from all applicants
for construction permits in the city.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Finance Deparb~ent
shall remit the collected fees to the appropriate agency of the
State of California.
