A RESOLUT.ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT. OF
FINANCE OF THE STATE OF CAf,IFORNIA TO MAKE
AN ESTIMATE OF THE INC~SE IN POPULATION
OF THE CI.TY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, it is provided in Section 210"1. . 2 .of the
Streets and Highways Code that any city whose' population has
increased substantially since the last Federal Census may apply
to the Department of Finance of the State of California to
estimate the increase in population; and
WHEREAS, said Section 2107.2 further provides .that
the Department of Pinance may make the estimate if, in the
opinion of the Department, there is available adequate info~a-
tion upon which to base the estimate; and
WHEREAS, the Department has ascertained and determined
that the .records of the City of Anaheim contain adequate informa-
tion upon which to base the estimate; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to have the Department
est.imat.e the increase in population of the City', and the Depart-
ment is willing to make such estimation upon the terms and
condit.ions as contained in the a9re~ent tendered to the City
by the Department of Finance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that the te~s and conditions of said agreement are fair and
reasonable and that it would be to the advantage and for the
best interest of the City to have the Department of Finance make
an estimate of the increase in population of the City of Anaheim
since the last census.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE.SOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim t.hat t.he Department of Pinance of the State
of California be, and it is hereby, authorized to. make an
estimate of the increase in population of the City from all
avai,lable records and other information made available to said
Department and t.o determine the estimat.ed present population of
the City upon the terms and conditions of the agreement tendered
to the Ci.ty of Anaheim by the Departnaent of Finance and this day
submitted to the City Council, which agreement is hereby approved
and the execution thereof authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Department of Finance
be compensated in the manner and in the amount. as set forth in
said agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim and to
forward the executed copies of said agreement to the Department
of Finance to be executed by the Director thereof.

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and si'gned by me
this 18th day of January, 1972.
