RESOLUTION NO. 72R-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTrON OF CITY
RECORDS r.l0RE TH1u~ FIVE YEARS OLD ·
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government .Code of the
state of California authorizes the destruction of certain records
of the City upon approval of the leq~slative body of the City,
and with the written consent of the City Attorney, provided that
said records do not fall within certain specified categories.; and
WHEREAS, the following described documents in the
possession of the Anaheim Police Department are more than five
years old and are documents which are authorized for destruction
under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the Government Code
without making a copy thereof~ and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Anahetm has
determined that said documents do not have sufficient value "to
justify retention; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the dete~ination
of the Chief of Police and-finds the destruction of the records
in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the city Attorney of the city of Anaheim does
by the approval of this resolution hereby give his writ~en
consent for the destruction of the listed records.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police of the Citv of Anaheim
be, and he is hereby authorized, to destroy immediately, in a
lawful manner, the following described documents under hi.s charge
without making any copies thereof, to wit:
Daily Bulletins dated from July 1, 1964 through
December 31, 1966. These bulletins contain in
chronological order, brief notations concerning
the incidents handled by each shift of Operations
Division Personnel.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction .of the
foregoing records a certificate of destruction shall be executed
and the original thereof filed in the office of the city Clerk
together with a copy of this resolution. '
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and :signed by me
this 18th day of Januarv , 19 72
