A RE.SOLUTION OF THE CITY CODN,CIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM URGl:NG THE CONSOLIDATION 'OP SANr-
TATION DISTRICTS. WITH SPEC~ ZONES 00-
TERMINUS WITH EXI.STING DISTRICTS.
~, because of the ma~y Sanitation Distr.icts
within the County of Orange, there exists not only a duplication
of services and effort, but a duplication of Directors' fees:
and
WHEREAS, a special conuni tte.e has considered the pro-
blem at length and has made certain recommendations, one of
which would include the consolidation of the present Sanitation
District.s' 'int.o one County Sanitation District wit.h sp'ecial zones
which would be co-terminus wi.th existing Distr.icts" boundaries;
and
WHEREAS, said recommendation would pe~it the existing
Distr.icts. to maintain separate" budgets, .1:0. issue bonds and to
incur bonded indebtedness for improvements and the maintenance
thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after reviewing ~e various
recommendations of said special committee, finds that the recom-
mendation set forth above is the best so'lution to the 'problem.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the 'Ci...ty Council of
the City of Anaheim. that it urge and it does hereby u~qe the
Board of supervisors of the County of Ora~ge to take 'immediate
steps towards consolidation of the present Sanitation Districts
and the implementation of the recommendation of the .Special
Committee w~ch would form one County Sanitation District retain-
ing special zones co-te.rminus with existing Districts'. boundaries.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Board of Supervisors
be and they are hereby urged to give immediate consideration to
the aforesaid recommendation of the special committee in that
it would not only reduce .the number of special districts, but
would bring about a reduction in Directors' fee.s which would
bring about substantial savings to the taxpayers 'of the District.s'.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that .the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby ordered and directed to forward a certified copy
of this Res'olution to each of the members of the County Board
of Supervisors of Orange County.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and si'qned by me
