A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATBR PIPE AND FITTING
IS NECESSARY FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT; APPROV-
ING THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF: AND DIRECTING
THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURNISHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
public convenience and necessity require the 'purchase and acquisi-
tion of cast iron water pipe and fittings for use' by the Water
Department of the City of Anaheim in the. amounts. hereinafter
specified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that the
specifications prepared and submitted to the City Council by the
Utilities Director for said pipe and fittings, enti,tl'ed "Specifi-
cations for Cast Iron Water Pipe, Series of 19'71, City of Anaheim,
are adequate for the purpose and should be approved; and
WHEREAS, t.he City Council does find and determine that
a notice should be published inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts hereinafter
specified, and in accordance with the specifications prepared by
said Utilities Director and herein approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all cast iron wate.r pipe and fittings
hereinafter specified shall confo~ to the specifications there-
for prepared by the Utili ties Director of the Ci.ty of Anahe.im
and he.reby approved; and
BE IT FU~HER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased
for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim cast "iron water
pipe and fittings in tne following approximate quantities, and
of the fol1ow~g sizes and descriptions:
ITEM I 1,000 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM II 3,00.0 feet. of 6 inch cast -iron pipe
ITEM III 6,000 feet. of 8 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM IV 7,000 feet of 10 inch cast ,iron pipe
ITEM V 5,000 feet of 12 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM VI 2,000 feet of 12 inch ducti.le iron pipe
ITEM VII 1,500 feet of 16 inch ductile iron pipe
ITEM VIII 50,000 pounds of Mechanical Joint fittings
with accessories.'
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that. the Cit.y Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directe.d to publish a notice in the
Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form as required by law,
inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said pipe and
fittings above described, and directing that said se-aled proposals
will be received at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim up to the hour of 2: 00 P.M. on the 24th. day of No-vember,
1971.
