A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM URGING THE BOARI) OF SUPERVISORS
01' ORANGE COUNT,Y TO RENEW 'IRE LEASE AGREEMENTS
WITH AIR CALXPORNIA AND AIR WEST AT THE ORANGE
COUNTY AIRPORT. .
WHEREAS, since t.he inaugurat.ion of flight. service 'by
Air California and Air West from the Orange County Airport, the
citizens of Orange County have enjoyed an unsurpassed convenience
in air travel; and
WHEREAS, the local government officials of Orange County
have been able to take advantage of the 'superior convenience of
departure and arrival at the Orange County Airport 'through the use
of the facilities of Air California and Air West; and .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, on
behalf of itself and on behalf of the many citizens 'of Orange
County making use of the facilities, would urge the continuance
of such 'leases without rest.riction or impairment so that Air
California and Air West will be in a position to meet the qrowing
needs of an expanding Orange County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE.SOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it urge and it does hereby urqe the
Bo.ard of Supervisors of 'the County of Orange to renew wi tho.ut
restriction the leases 'of Air California and Air West for the
use of the Orange County Airport facilities so that ~ere will
be no break in the continuity of convenience to air travelers to
or from Orange County.
BE IT FO~HER RESOLVED that in consideration of the
leases to Air California and Air West that said Board of Super-
visors concern themselves with. the expanding problems of air
traffic in and around the County of Orange.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolu-
tion be forwarded to the City Councils 'of each of the cities of
Orange County with a request that they join the Cit.y of Anaheim
in this effort to maintain adequate, complete and convenient
air service for all of the citizens of Orange County.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 19th day of Oct.ober, 1971.
