1.CALL TO ORDER: Chair Yagar called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m. He announced that Commissioner
Esping from District 2 has resigned his position on the commission; Council Member Diaz has not yet appointed
a new commissioner for District 1 therefore Vice-Chair Burns will continue until then; and in District 4, Council
Member Valencia appointed a new commissioner who unfortunately passed away before beginning his term.
2.PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice-Chair Burns led the Commission in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3.APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Yagar presented the minutes of the January 21, 2021 meeting.
Commissioner Vicknair made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Brown; minutes
approved unanimously.
4.PUBLIC COMMENTS: None received.
5.NEW BUSINESS:
A.City of Anaheim COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts – Commissioner Brown wanted to check with the
commissioners to make sure they have received the vaccine if they are eligible. She asked Wendy to give
an update on the City’s vaccine efforts. Wendy Hernandez reported that the City hosted a mini-pod and
vaccinated over 500 seniors at the East Anaheim Gymnasium. They hope to provide more at Brookhurst
and Downtown but they have not been scheduled at this time. Currently vaccines are available at both the
Disneyland site and the Anaheim Convention Center and information is available on the City’s website.
More organizations are applying to hold vaccination sites, including schools and medical groups, and when
they are informed there are appointments available, city staff are contacting seniors to let them know.
Commissioner Vicknair asked what the best process would be to follow to notify fellow seniors about
vaccination opportunities. Wendy replied that she will update the commissioners as she gets information.
B.Reopening of Anaheim and Orange County – Commissioner Vicknair reported that Orange County is
currently in the red zone, and he asked when the community centers may open once we enter the yellow
tier, and also since the commission is a small group he wondered if they would be able to meet in person.
Wendy Hernandez confirmed that Orange County is in the red tier, and it will be a matter of following the
regulations of what is allowed in each tier. She stated that we do not have authorization to meet in person
at this time, neither inside nor outside.

6.UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A.Senior Citizen Commission Collection & Distribution of Face Masks – Commissioner Brown thanked
Alzheimer’s Orange County and the Orange County Mask Outreach group for their mask donations and
announced some upcoming opportunities for mask distribution.
7.PUBLIC COMMUNICATION ACTION ITEMS: None.
8.INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: None.
9.ADJOURNMENT: Chair Yagar adjourned the meeting at 2:36 p.m.
