RESOLUTION NO. 5670
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM MODIFYING FOR A LIMITED PERIOD OF
TIME THE PARKING RESTRICTIONS APPLICABLE TO
PUBLIC PARKING LOTS WITHIN THE CITY AS ES-
TABLISHED BY SECTION 3316 OF THE ANAHEIM
MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, Section 3316 of the Anaheim Municipal Code
provides that parking upon publicly owned parking lots within
the City of Anaheim shall be limited to two hours; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this restriction
should be modified during the Christmas holidays to facilitate
customer parking for Christmas shopping within the downtown
section of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would facili-
tate such shopping and the better use of said public parking
lots to remove said restriction during the period commencing
December 4 and ending on December 24, 1959, and to block the
entrances to said lots until 9:00 A.M. of each shopping day and
to provide for the placing of attendants on said lots if found
to be necessary to obtain the best use of said public parking
lots during said period; and
WHEREAS, Section 33l6(e) of the Anaheim Municipal Code
provides that parking limitations may be altered by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that from the 4th day of December, 1959 to
the 24th day of December, 1959, the following regulations shall
apply upon all publicly owned municipal parking lots within the
City of Anaheim:
1. That parking upon said parking lots shall be
limited to three (3) hours.
2. That parking lot attendants may be employed and
placed in charge of said parlcing lots, if necessary, to obtain
the most efficient use of said parking lots during said period.
3. That all entrances to said parking lots ;may be
closed from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. on each day of the
week except Sunday, if necessary for proper utilization of lots.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
place signs upon said lots showing the location of other City
lots in the vicinity.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 1st day of December, 1959.
