A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE IMPROVEMENT OF RGmEYA DRIVE, FR~ SPADRA
ROAD TO LEMON STREET. JOB NO. 482
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS~ PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF 9 AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, ETC,,; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT-
ING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City or Ana-
heim, to w:i.t~
The Improvement of Romneya Drive, from Spadra Road
to Lemon Street, by excavation, including removal
of existing classified material and haul-a-way,
construction of 4-inch plant-mix surfacing, in-
cluding paint binder and weed killer, construction
of 4-foot standard cross-gutters, construction of
panel board, construction of 28 feet of machine
A.C. berm, adjusting water valves to grade, adjust-
ing manholes to grade, and appurtenant work as
indicated on the plans, Job No. 482.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Thornton E.
Piersall to prepare detailed designs, plans, proriles,
drawings and specirications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said City EnQineer has prepared said detailed de-
signs, plans, profiles9 drawings and specifications for the construc-
tion of said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Counon finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profi.les, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City or
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
struction of said public improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1'1' RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the detailed designs. plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said City Engineer

I, DENE M. WILLIAMS, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting provided by law of the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, held on the 13th day of October, 1959,
by the following vote;
AYES:
COUNCILMEN: Coons, Pearson, Thompson and Schutte.
NOES:
COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Fry.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim
approved and signed said resolution on the 13th day of October,
1959.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
the official seal of the City of Anaheim this 13th day of October,

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, proriles, drawings and specirications as prepared by said
C~t7 En~lneer and hereby approved, and such addenda or
mo i ica ions thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding or
bids thereror.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk or the City
or Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to pub-
lish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals ror the
rurnishing or all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power, ruel and
water, and perrorming all work necessary to construct and complete,
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed designs, plans, proriles, drawings and specirications as
prepared by said City Engineer , the public improvement
hereinabove mentioned and described, and rixing the 5th day or
November ,l95~, at the hour or 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date
and hour ror the opening of said bids at the City Council Chamber
in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall
be published twice, the rirst or which publications shall be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date rixed for the opening or bids,
and that said publications shall be at least rive (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successrul bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
or Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney or
the City or Anaheim for the construction, installation and comple-
tion of said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and specirications prepared by said
Citv Ena~e~t ' the notice inviting sealed proposals, this reso-
lution an a applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the
laws of the State of California, and shall be required to post bonds
and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
as speciried in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a rorm
approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was approved and signed by me this
