RESOLUTION NO. 86R-85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE CHARTER
OF THE WATER ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF ORANGE
COUNTY.
WHEREAS, changes and developments in water resource
planning have necessitated a more comprehensive program to manage,
develop and import water and the coordination thereof within Orange
County in its land use and other planning activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is desirous to cooperate with
other water agencies and cities in Orange County to facilitate the
above-referenced goals; and
WHEREAS, the Water Advisory Committee of Orange County
CW.A.C.O.) has been formed to act as a non-binding advisory
organization to facilitate an efficient exchange of information,
ideas and concepts affecting water planning, supply, management and
policy, and to coordinate with, and supply such information to, the
County of Orange, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California, the State of California and other affected agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, together with the Coastal
Municipal Water District, the Municipal Water District of Orange
County and the Cities of Fullerton and Santa Ana desire to join to
compose the members of W.A.C.O.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby adopt and approve the Charter of
the Water Advjsory Committee of Orange County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is directed to
appoint as Anaheim representative on WACO, a member of the City
Council, together with an alternate also from the City Council.
The City Manager is also directed to appoint a staff representative
to WACO.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Anaheim recognizes the actions of WACO are advisory only and not
binding on the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 4th day of March, 1986.
