A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE
WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY fINANCING PROGRAM THE
DEVELOPMENT OF HARBOR BOULE~~qD
WHEREAS, the City
Boulevard
to Orangewood Avenue
of Anaheim desires to improve Harbor
from Katella Avenu~
~. and
WHEREAS, Harbor Boulevard is an important
artery in the County of Orange ~nd of genetal County interest, and
wBEREAS~ Article 2 and Article 39 Chapter 9$ Division 2 of
the Streets and Highways Code author izes a County, if It so de~ i res ~
to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users
Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement$ construction or repair
of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisor~ intends to. by appropriate
action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the Fiscal Year 19S9-60 a sum of money for the improve-
ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in ac=
cordanc.e with the; Orange County Arterial Highway Fihancing Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County
Funds the amount of $27.000.00 , said' amount to be matched
by funds from said CitY$ to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of Harbor Boulevard from Katella ~venue
to Oranqewood Avenue , and for the acquisition of necessary
rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be
in accordance with the attached project statemento
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisi-
tion of rights of way on Harbor Boulevard $ in the manner
prOVided, is in the general County interesto
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that. by this Resolution, the City of
Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financ-
ing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improve-
ments and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1959-60 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be~ and she is
hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange CountY$ California, and
a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commissioner~ Court
House Annex, Santa Ana, California.
