A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE
WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE
DEVELOPMENT OF CERRITOS AVENUE

WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve Cerritos
from Lo~ ~peles ~treet

~EREAS, Cerritos Avenue is an important
artery in the C~unty 6f Orange~nd of genetaI, Ceunty i~terest, and

wHEREAS~ Article 2' and Ar4icle 3~ Chapter 9, Division 2 of
the Streets and Highways Code author'ius a County, if n so de(5i res ~
to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users
Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair
of a street within a City; and .
WHEREAS, the Board of ~upervisor. intends to, by appropriate
action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the F hcal Year 1959-60 a, SUIIl of money for the improve-
ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in ac-
cordancg with the':'Orange County ~rterial Highwa~ Financing Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board of Super-
visors 01'1 the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County
Funds the ambunt of $12,50~.OO 1. , said' amount to be matched
by funds from said City~ to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of Cerritos Avenue from Los. AnGeles Street
to Lewis Street , and for the acqufsi tion of necessary
rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be
in accordance with the attached project statement.
_BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said wor~ and acquisi-
tion of rights of way on Cerritos Avenue , in the manner
provided, is in the general County interesto
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of
Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financ=
ing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improve=
ments and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 19S9-60
.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, and
a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commissioner~ Court
House Annex, Santa Ana, California.
