A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT IT IS
NECESSARY TO PURCHASE LIQUID CHLORINE FOR USE
BY THE ORANGE OOUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER IN
THE HANDLING OF SEWAGE, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PRO-
POSALS THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the Ci ty of Anaheim has heretofore been
appointed and designated as the contracting agent for the
Cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, Orange and Anaheim, and
the Garden Grove, La Habra and Placentia Sanitary Districts
of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that it is necessary to purchase liquid chlorine for use in
the handling of sewage by the Orange County Joint Outfall
Sewer; and
WHEREAS, the amount required will exceed in cost
the sum of $2,000.00, and a notice should be published
inviting sealed proposals therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, as contracting agent for the Cities
and Sanitary Districts of the Orange County Joint Outfall
Sewer, that a notice inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of liquid chlorine, of commercial quality, for
the handling of sewage, in an amount not exceeding 300,000
pounds, be published in the Anaheim Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in
the City of Anaheim, giving notice to all persons that bids
for such liquid chlorine will be received up to the hour of
2:00 o'Clock P.M. on the 1st day of October, 1959, at the
Office of the City Clerk, in the City Hall, Anaheim, Cali-
fornia; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish said notice
as herein directed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said sealed proposals
shall comply in all respects with the specifications prepared
by the Manager of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, a
copy of which shall be placed on file in the Office of the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, and on file in the Office
of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer. which specifica-
tions are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of
Anaheim in a form approved by the City Attorney, for a
period of one year from date of award of contract, a copy
- of which contract Shall be placed on file in the Office
of the City Clerk for inspection by bidders; and said
successful bidder shall also be required to execute to
the City of Anaheim a faithful performance bond as required
by law and the specifications.
