A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY OOUNOIL OF THE OITY
OF ANAHEIM INITIATING PROOEEDINGS FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF OERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
TO THE OITY OF ANAHEIM, ON ITS OWN MOTION;
DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE
na.IlI ING STRRFT ANNFXAT l(1N
DESORIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTIOE OF
THE DAY, HOUR AND PLAOE WHERE AND WHEN ANY
PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH
TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE OITY OOUNCIL AND SHOW OAUSE
WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE OITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has in-
vestigated certain uninhabited territory as hereinafter set forth
and does find that such territory is so situated as to require
facilities of the Oity of Anaheim to pass through such territory,
and does find that such territory can be easily served with the
facilities of the City of Anaheim and does further find that
service of other areas in the City of Anaheim will be facilitated
by annexation of such uninhabited territory, and that annexation
of such territory will be in the best interest of the City of
Anaheim and the best interest of the area to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the Oity Oouncil does hereby determine that
proceedings for the annexation of the hereinafter described
uninhabited territory should be initiated by the City Council on
its own initiative; and
WHEREAS, the proposal for the annexation of the terri-
tory hereinafter described to the Oity of Anaheim was submitted
to the Boundary Oommission of the Oounty of Orange, State of
California, and reported upon by said Boundary Oommission with
respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed
boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the Oounty of Orange, State of
Oalifornia and is contiguous to the Oity of Anaheim and is
uninhabited territory; and
WHEREAS, the City Oouncil finds from evidence and
reports received that said new territory proposed to be annexed
to said City of Anaheim does not form a part of any municipal
corporation and that said territory is uninhabited and is con-
tiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Oouncil finds that the boundaries
of the territory SO proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim
are as follows, to wit:

DOWUNG STREET ANNEXATION
That portion of land located in the County of Orange, State of
California, being portions of Lots 14 I 15 and 20 of Block K of the Kraemer
Tract I as shown on a map filed in Book 12 I Pages 87, 88 I Miscellaneous
Recor ds of Los Angeles County I California, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a poi,nt in the existing City limits line of the City of
Anaheim as established by the Northeast Annexation No. 2 A to the City
of Anaheim I passed l;yOrdinance No. 1269 ,August 12, 1958, and filed
with the Secretary of State September 12, 1958, said point of beginning
being the point of intersection of the Southerly line of the North half of
the South half of Lot 15, Block K of said Kraemer Tract with the Easterly
right of way line of Dowling Street (40.00 feet wide); thence I
L Southerly along the existing City limit lines to the point of
intersection with the Southerly right of way line of La Palma Avenue
(40.00 feet wide) formerly known as Corona Street; thence,
2. Westerly along the Southerly right of way line of La Palma
Avenue (formerly known as Corona Street) to the pOint of intersection
with the Southerly prolongation of the Westerly line of the East half of Lot
14 I Block K of the said Kraemer Tract; thence I
3. Northerly along the aforementioned Southerly prolongation
and Westerly line of the East half of Lot 14 I Block K of the said Kraemer
Tract to the point of intersection with the Southerly right of way line of
Coronado Street (40.00 feet wide); thence,
4. Easterly along the Southerly right of way line of Coronado
Street to the point of intersection with the Westerly right of way line of
Dowling Street (40.00 feet wide), thence,
5. Southerly along the Westerly right of way line of Dowling Street
to the pOint of intersection with the Westerly prolongation of the Southerly
line of the North half of the South half of Lot 15, Block K of the said

NOW, THEREFORE, BE rT RESOLVED BY 'rnE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM:

That the proposed annexation be, and it is hereby,
initiated on the motion of the City Council of the City of Anaheim
and that such proposed annexation ~8 s!gDRted as the
"DOWLING STREET ANNEXATTON" and that notice of such
proposed annexation be given as hereinafter provided.
BE IT FURTFER RESOLVED the;t {, public hehl'ing shall
be held upon the date setg not less than forty (40) nor more than
sixty (60) days after the passage of this Resolution, unless the
owner or owners of all of t';e +;erritor" to ':'6 Hnnexod flle their
consent to such annexaticc, in ',n'-:.ting': with the City Council,
in which event the heariTe; shall be set u t any tlme after com-
pliance with Section 35311 of t~e Government Code.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that tela City Council does
find that the owner or owners of all of the territory proposed to
be annexed have not filed their consent to such annexation,
in writing, with the City Council.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 6th day of
October , 19--5.2.... at t:l,e hour of 7:00 o'clock ..E-M.,
at the City Council Chambers In the City Hall of the City of
Anaheim be, and the same :is hereby, fixed as the day, hour and
place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by
any owner or owners of real property within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed; and that at any time before the hour set for
hearing objections. any owner of property within said territory
may file with the City Clerk a written protest against the an-
nexation. Said protest shall be in writing and shall state the
name of the owner of the property affected and the description
and area of the property in general terms.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this
Resoluti::m to be published at least twice, but not oftener than
once a week, in a newspaper of general circulation, published in
the City, to wit: Anaheim Gazette of Anaheim, Orange
County, California, and also in '1 newspaper of general circulation,
published outside or the City, but in the County of Orange,. in
which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be anneX:0:3d
to the City of Anaheim, to wi.t: Placentia Courier. PlacentilitL
,Orange County, California; and that such publication
shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prlor to the date
of hearing hereinabove specified.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexatlon to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be an-
nexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person I.ho has filed his !J2)me and address and
the designation of lands in "hich he has any intel'est, ei t"ler'
legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim is oHned by a County, the C1ty Clerk of the City of

Anaheim shall also oause written notioe of suoh proposed annexa-
tion to be mailed to the Board of Supervisor. of suoh Oounty.
The foregoing notioes shall be given not les8 than twenty (20)
days before the first pUblio hearing on the proposed annexation.
