A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM CHANGING THE NAME OF PALM STREET,
IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, FROM THE NORTH CITY
LIMITS LINE TO ITS JUNCTION WITH HARBOR BOULE-
VARD SOUnI OF WEST VERM:>NT AVENUE, TO HARBOR
BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, on August l7, 1959, the City Planning Commission
did duly pass and adopt its Resolution No. 44 - Series 19S'~60,
recommending to the City Council; that in order to create less con-
fusion to the public and give continuous streets the same name
between City and"County territorles, the nUle of- Palm Street, in
the City of Anaheim, from the north City Limits Line to its junction
with Harbor Boulevard south of West Vermont Avenue, should be
changed to Harbor Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said change of name
has been recommended by the Orange County Street Naming Committee
and endorsed by the League of California Cities, the Post Office
Department and the Southern California Automobile Club; and that at
the junction of Palm Street and Harbor Soulevard, south of West
Vermont Avenue, this change of name does take place and the street
becomes Harbor Boulevard all of the way to the coast; and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter, the City
Council does find that the assignment of the name ftHarbor Boulevard"
to Palm Street, in the City of Anaheim, from the north City Limits
Line to its junction with Harbor Boulevard south of West Vermont
Avenue will result in less confusion to the PUblic, and that by
reason of the foregoing facts public convenience and neces.'ity
require that said name be changed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the name of Palm Street, in the City of Anaheim,
froa the north City Limits Line to its junction with Harbor Boule-
vard south of Vest Vermont Avenue, be changed to Harbor Soulevard,
said change to be made one year from date hereof; and that for a
period of three years after the effective date of said change of
name, signs bearing the new street name with the old name underneath
shall be maintained.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this
25th day of August, 1959.
