AN ORDINANCE. OF THE .CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
TITLE.' 1, CHAPTER L.04, SECTIONS.' 1:04.260 AND
1..04.270. OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO. -PURCHASING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE'CI.TY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
'SECT.ION. 1..
That .Title '1,. Chapter' 1..04, Section 1..04.260 .of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is -hereby, amended to
read as follows
"1..04.260 PURCHASING AGENT - POWERS.
The. 'Purchasing' Agent -is hereby. designated as -an
officer of the City and, as such, isempoweredto. sign contracts.
in the name of the City. 'The Purchasing Agent ..is authorized to
bind .the City on contracts. -in writing without advertising and
without previous approval of the Council -when the'value''of the
contract does not exceed Ten Thousand Dollars -($10',000.,.00).
except as may be 'l'imited by Section: 1211 .of .the City Charter."

That Title'

ThatTitle' '1, .Chapter' 1'..04, Section' 1..04.270 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, amended to
read as follows: -
"1.04.270 PURCHASES - COMPETITIVE BIDS.
For purchases involving over.Five'Hundred Dollars
($500..00) but not greater than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000:.00).,
the -Purchasing Agent shall make a reasonable'effort to obtain
competitive.bids without the necessity of advertising; but with'
solicitation by letter., telephone, or -otherwise: Purchases
shall then be made from the''lowest responsible bidder. In the'
event .competitive bids-are'not obtained, the Purchasing Agent -
shall document the reason(s)- therefor in the files -of the
Purchasing Division.
SECTION. 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall causethe'same to be printed once within
.fifteen .(15). days after its -adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published, and
circulated in said City, and thirty .(30) days from and after
.its final passage,. it shall take effect and be'in full force.
THE .FOREGOING ORDINANCE -is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim. this' :22nd day of
