59R-5388 - RESOLUTION NO. 5388 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANA- HEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND AWARDING A CON- TRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND ALL UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING POWER, FUEL AND WATER, AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE THE FOLLOW- ING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT: THE IMPROVEMENT OF EUCLID AVENUE!. FROM ROMNEYA DRIVE TO KATELLA AVENUE. PROJ ECT NO. 71. WHEREAS, the C1 ty Council of the City of Anaheim did cause t.o be published in a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Gazette on the 2nd and 9th days of July. 19~9. a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the following: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and worYJ11anl ike manner, in str ict acco'rd- ance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer of City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to wit: The Improvement of Euclid Ayenue, from Romneya Driye to Katella Avenue, by excavation, including removal of existing materials, construction of 3-, 4-, and 5-inch plant-mix surfacing, includ- ing paint binder and weed killer, construction of storm drain facilities, curbs and gutters, adjusting existing manholes and existing water valye covers to grade, installation of standard paddle boards, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans, Project No. 71, in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specifications of said public improvement on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said public improvement did provide that sealed proposals would be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 23rd day of July , 1959 , for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials., and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, the public improvement hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, and which notice did state and declare that pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Coun~il of the City of Anaheim bad ascertained the prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be performed for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract and did set forth the prevailing hourly wage scale so ascertained; and ~- WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did receive the following sealed proposals prior to 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 23rd day of July , 19.2..2.-, in response to the notice aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit: -1- NAME TOTAL PRICE ...-- R. AND WHEREAS, the City Engineer did thereupon examine and tabu- late said sealed proposals and did report to the City Oauncil the re- sultof his examination and tabulation; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the saaledpropos.a,J..sub- mitted by R. IDa terials and equipment,allut,il.i ties.and tranep,ortation, including power, fuel and water and per.forming Jill work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawin,s there- for on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Analteim, the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described" together wi th the appurtenances thereto, and as specified in the I'ot:ic.e, inviting sealed pro~osals, and that said proposal of said aboye named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidd.er in accordance therewith; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above mentioned sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal recei v,ed and that the per- son, firm or corporation submitting said propoaal is a resp.onsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal submitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to be constructed. NOW, THERErORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the C:\tlf Council of the, Citlf of Anaheim, that the sealed proposal submitted bY R. J. NOBLE COMPANY, p. O. BOX 620. Oranae.
