RESOLUT ION NO. 2..2.!t.6.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING THE PRESIDENT AND
THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO
DESIGNATE LOS ANGELES AND VICINITY AS
THE SITE OF A WORLD'S FAIR IN 1963.
WHEREAS, the City Council is informed that a
World's Fair is contemplated to be held in the United
States in 1963; and
VlliEREAS, the City Council finds that Los Angeles
and vicinity would be an ideal site to hold said World's
Fair because of its ready accessibility to all parts of
the world and to all parts of the United States, and due
to the favorable climatic conditions and the many other
attractions of interest to people from other parts of the
world and the United States; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the
President and the Congress of the United States should be
urged to designate the City of Los Angeles as the site
for the World's Fair in 1963.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the President and the Congress
of the United States be, and they each are hereby respect-
fully urged to designate the City of Los Angeles and
vicinity as the site for the World's Fair proposed to be
held in 1963.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk
be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to transmit
certified copies of this resolution to the President of
the United States, and to Senator Thomas H. Kuchel, Senator
Clair Engle and James B. Utt, Representative from this
district.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 7th day of July, 1959.
