RESOLUTION NO. 5251
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE .AND ENTERED
INTO WITH THE ANAHEIM UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
TO JOINTLY ORGANIZE, PROMJTE AND CONDUCT A
PROORAM OF COJVIro.UNITY RECREATION.
WHEREAS, in conformity with the provisions of Chapter 4,
Division 12 of the Education Code of the State of California, the
City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Union High School District a~
engaged in a joint recreation project under an agreement wherein
the facilities of both parties are being used for recreational
purposes for the children and adults of said City and said District;
and
WHEREAS, the Cypress Park District and the Cypress
Elementary School District are within the boundaries of the Anaheim
Union High School District and are a part of the recreation program
of the Anaheim Union High School District; and
WHEREAS, as a part of the program of the Anaheim Union
High School District, recreation programs are to be conducted on
the grounds and in the buildings of the Cypress Park District and
the Cypress Elementary School District during the school vacation
period from June through August, 1959; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that supervision of such program
be under the Recreation Commission of the City of Anaheim under
the joint agreement of the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Union
High School District, and it is contemplated that certain ad-
ditional personnel will be needed to supervise such recreational
programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim enter into an agree-
ment with the Anaheim Union High School District for the following
purposes and upon the following terms and conditions:
1. To enter into and jointly organize, promote and
conduct a program of community recreation during
the summer vacation, June through August, 1959, for
general education and recreational objectives for
the children and adults of said City and said park
and school Districts, and to promote and preserve
the health and general welfare of the people of said
City and said Districts.
2. The City of Anaheim shall provide supervisors to
conduct a summer recreation program on the grounds
and in the buildings of the Cypress Park District
and the Cypress Elementary School District.
3. The Anaheim Union High School District shall con-
tribute the amount of $3,000.00 as its proportionate
share of the special costs of said recreation program,
to be paid into the City of Anaheim Recreation Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute said

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
