A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING THE INTERSECTION OF
THE OFF-RAMP ROAD FROM THE WEST TERMINUS OF
THE KATELLA AVENUE SANTA ANA. FREEWAY OVERPASS
AND HATELLA AVENUE AS A STOP INTERSECT ION; AND
AUTHORIZING THE POSTING OF A STOP SIGN ON THE
OFF-RAMP ROAD AT THE ENTRANCE TO SUCH INTER-
SECT ION .
WHEREAS, Section 459, Subdivision "(g)," of the
California Vehicle Code provides that local authorities in
their respective jurisdiction shall have authority to designate
any intersection as a stop intersection, by resolution, and to
post stop signs requiring all vehicles to stop at one or more
entrances to the intersection; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 3213,
provides that the City Council shall, by resolution, determine
and designate the character of all official warning and
direction signs and signals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that to eliminate
traffic hazards and to promote the welfare of citizens and
residents in the City of Anaheim, the intersection of the
off-ramp road from the west terminus of the Katella Avenue
Santa Ana Freeway Overpass and Katella Avenue should be
declared and established as a stop intersection, and that a
stop sign should be posted on the off-ramp road requiring
all vehicles entering the intersection from the off-ramp road
from the west terminus of the Katella Avenue Overpass to stop
before entering said intersection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the intersection of the off-ramp
road from the west terminus of the Katella Avenue Santa Ana
Freeway Overpass and Katella Avenue in the City of Anaheim
is hereby declared to be a stop intersection.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police
be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place and
maintain a boulevard stop sign on the off-ramp road from the
west terminus of the Katella Avenue Santa Ana Freeway Overpass
at the intersection of said Off-ramp road and Katella Avenue.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the stop sign so
established and maintained Shall conform to the regulations
of the California Vehicle Code as to size and design.
