A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE OITY OF
ANAHEIM AOKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETI~ION FOR
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
TO THE OITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNA'l'ING THE TERRITORY
AS THE BROO}\.HU;~ST-l'v\TELLA ANNF}~TTnT\J
j DESORIBING
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND
PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY OOUNCIL AND
SHOW CAUSE WHY SUOH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
the lOth day of February, 19-5.9-, receive a written
petition asking that oertain new territory described in said petition
be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal
for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City
of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the Oounty of
Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary
Commission with respect to the definiteness and oertainty of the
proposed boundaries. and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Oalifornia,
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory,
and said petition contained a description of said territory in words
and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution desoribed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidenoe and reports
reoeived that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition,
it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-fourth (i>
of the land in the territory by area and by assessed value in the
territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding
equalized county assessment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports
reoeived and from said petition that at the time of the filing and
presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be
annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal
oorporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is contiguous
to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidenoe and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
SO proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,

A Parcel of land being a portion of the southeast quarter of Section 19,
Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, located in
the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing City limit line of the City of
Anaheim as established by the Midwood Manor Annexation to the City of Anaheim,
as passed by Ordinance No. 1164, on August 13, L57, and filed with the
Secretary of State on September 16, 1)57, said point being the point of
intersection of the said existing City limit line with the south line of the
north half of the SE~ of the SE~ of Section 19, Township 4 South, Range 10
West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence,
1. Westerly along the south line of the N1 of the SE~ of the SE~
of said Section 1) to the east line of Tract No. 2111, as shown on a map
filed for record in Book 61, Pages 46,47 and 48 of Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California; thence,
2. Northerly along the east line of Tract No. 2111 to the northeast
corner of the said Tract 2111, said point also being in the southerly line
of the Southern Pacific Rai lroad right of way as shown on the map of said
Tract 2111 in Book 61, Pages 46,47 and 48 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
said Orange County, California; thence,
3. Easterly along the southerly line of said Southern Pacific Railroad
right of way to its point of intersection with the existing City limit line
of the City of Anaheim as established by said Midwood Manor Annexation; thence,
4. Southerly along the said existing City of Anaheim City limit line to
the point of beginning.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that such proposed annexation be designated as
"BROOKHURST-KATELLA ANNEXATION" and. that
notice of such proposed annexation be hereby given as hereinafter
provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a pUblic hearing shall be had
upon the date eet, not less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60)
days after the passage of this Reso1ution, unless the owner or owners
of all of the territory to be annexed have petitioned for annexation
or filed their consents to such annexation, 1n writing, with the City
Council. in which event the hearing shall be set at any time after
compliance with Section 35311 of the Government Code.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does find
that the owner Or owners of all of the territory proposed to be
annexed have ===~o petitioned for annexation or filed their consents
to such annexation" in 'wzol tlng" with the C1 ty Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 17th day of March
19~. at the hour of ..' 1:0000 o!clock~M.>> at the City Council
Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim be. and the same is
hereby, fixed as the day, hour and place when and where the City
Council will hear protests made by any owner or owners of real
property within the territory proPQsed to be annexed; and that at any
time before the hQur' 8!!lt to)!" hearing objeotions. any owner of
property within said t;errltory may file wi.th the City Clerk a written
protest against the annexation. Said protest shall be in writing
and shall state the name of the owner of the property affected and
the description and area (of the propert;y ~on general terms.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be. and she is
hereby. authorized and dirlOloted tooause a copy of this Resolution
to be published at least twloe i' b!..lt not oftener than once a week. in
a newspaper of general c1rculat~on? published in the City, to wit:

be completed at least 't;wEntyI20, days prior to the date of hearing
hereinabove specified.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is herebY9 authorized and directed to cause
writtennotlce of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
assessed9 in the last equalized county assessment roll availableg on
the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said
assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk. and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in
whioh he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said
C1erk, and in the event that land within the territory proposed to
be annexed to the City of Anaheim 1s owned by a County. the Oity
C1erk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of suoh
proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such
County. The foregoing noti.ces shall be given not less than twenty
(20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this
