PEARSON, RETIRING MAYOR, FOR HIS LONG AND fAITHfUL SERVICES AS MAYOR AND MEMBER Of THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of ANAHEIM, AND TO IvUi.S. CHAS. A. PEA.R.SON FOR HER LONG AND FAITHfUL SERVICE AS FIRST LADY AND OFfICIAL HOSTESS OF THE CITY OF "~A.HEIM. WHEREAS, Chas. A. Pearson has served the City of Anaheim faithfully and with great honor for more than eighteen years as its Mayor and chief executive officer; and ~iHEREAS, during his tenure of office, Anaheim has grown from a city of 10,000 population to one of approximately 90,000 people, which growth has been due in a very large measure to the leadership, good Judgment and sound management and plan- ning of Mayor Pearson; and WHEREAS, he has also served the City with honor and distinction as a member of the City Planning Commission, a member of the Anaheim Union High School District, a member of the Com- mittee for the Metropolitan Water District, Executive Director of the American r~nicipa1 Association, President of the League of California Cities, a member of the Governor's State Highway Com- mittee, a member of the State Water Resources Committee of the League of California Cities, and Director of the Orange County Water District and Joint Outfall Sewer Committee; and WHEHEAS, we, the other members of the City Council, find that the people and residents of the City of Anaheim are greatly indebted to him for the invaluable services that he has rendered to the City during his tenure of office; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Chas. A. Pearson has served the City long and faithfully as a charming and gracious first lady and has given generously of her time and energies in serving as official hostess on many many occasions, and the people of Anaheim are deeply indebted to her; NOW, THEREfORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that we do hereby express to Chas. A. Pearson our deep personal appreciation and gratitude and the appreci- ation and gratitude of the citizens and residents of the City of Anaheim for the services he has rendered to the City and its citizens and residents as Mayor and chief executive officer and member of the City Council during his tenure of office, and to Mrs. Chas. A. Pearson for her long and faithful service as first lady and official hostess of the City of Anaheim. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council and the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to prepare a copy of this resolution and deliver it to Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
