RESOLUTION NO. 4949
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COliINCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANA.HEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
IXCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHW~Y FINANCING
PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF HARBOR BOULEVARD,
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4893.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve
Harbor Boulevard, ~om Orangewood Avenue to the south City
Limits; aDd
WHEREAS, Harbor Boulevard is an important artery in
the County or Orange and of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, Artiole 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division
2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it
80 desires, to expeDd ~ds apportioned to it out of the Cali~-
ornia Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improve-
ment, oonstruction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of SuperVisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special
Road Improvement Fund ror the Fiscal Year 1959-60 a sum of money
~or the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of
the County in accordance with the Orange County ~rterial Highway
Financing Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
or the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County
Funds the amount of $10,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds
~rom said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of Harbor Boulevard, ~rom Orangewood Avenue to the south City
Limits, and for the acquisition or necessary rights of way; said
improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance
with the attached project statement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
work and acquisition of rights of way on Harbor Boulevard, in
the manner provided, is in the general County interest.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts or the Arterial
Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share
of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available
for the fisoal year 1959-60.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she
is hereby authorized and direoted to ~orward a eertiried copy of
this Resolution to the Board or Supervisors o~ Orange County,
California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road
Commissioner, Court House Annex, Santa Ama, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. ~893,
adopted November 25, 1958, is hereby rescinded.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 23rd day of December, 1958.
