A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y
OF ANAHEIlI AUTHORIZING THE l:MPLOIMENT OF
REMINGTON RAJlI\ DIVISION OF SPERRY RAlID CORPO-
RATION, TO DO AND PERFORM THE WORK REQUIRED TO
REORG.uIZE THE RECORDS IN TIllE OFFICE OF THE

ANCE WITH THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED Oil JULY,..

WHEREAS. Remington Rand. Division or Sperry Rand Corpo-
ration. has made an explorator~ anal~aiB or the recorda 1m the
otrice ot the Cit~ Olerk ot the City ot ADaheim. and has made
rec...endations tor classitication anc modernization ot these
record.s; and
WHEREAS. the City Council d.es tind that owing to the
rapid growth and expansion of the Ci t~ or Anahe1ll the recorda in
the ottice or the City Clerk have increased iD such volume and to
such an extent that a more adequate system or indexing and classi-
ticatiOD 1s necessary to prevent loss or records and to provide a
means ot readily locating records without delay; and
WHE~E.S. aaid Remington Rand has submitted a proposal.
under date ot July 24. 1957. tor the indexing. classirication and
modernization ot said records; and has ortered to do and perto~
all work and turnish all labor necessary t. accompli&h the object
set rorth in said proposal tor the sum or $275.00 per week which
includes all time devoted to training personnel. preparation ot
written records management instructions to perpetuate the s~stem.
aa well a8 time devoted to the installation. with an estimated
approximate total cost ot ~.125.00; and
WHEREAS. the City Council does tind and determine that
it would be to the advantage and for the best interest or the
City to have the reoords in the otrice of the City Clerk properly
imdexed. classiried and modernized and that said Remington Rand.
Division ot Sperry Rand Corporation. is an organization .ualitied
to do said work; and that the charge tor such services is reason-
able and rair and that they should be employed ror that purpose.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City COlUlcH ot
the City or Anaheim that Remington Rand. Division or Sperry Rand
Corporation. be. and it i8 hereby. employed ror and on behalt ot
tae City ot Anaheim to do and perrorm the rollowing work and
render the rollowing services:
1. PROJECT A

Reorganize and streamline some twenty-two dravers
o~ papers as described in paragraph two or said proposal
dated J.1y 24, 1957. An estimated 12 to 15 weeks will be
required to acoomplish this projeot. which will include
establishing new systems teaturing the rollowing:
a. Minute Index - to include actual indexing
or minutes ror the preceding six month..

d. Deeds, Contract. ete.
e. Hew Subject Classification for correspondence.
f. Master Index.
2. PROJECT B
Reorganize and integrate as directed ao.. four
drawers of Variances now located in the Planning Department.
This project will involve 3 or 4 weeks.
AiD BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said RemingtoD Ramd be
co,enaated for the services 8. rendered and performed at the rate
of 275.00 per week tor the actual ttme devoted to the prosecutioD
and co.pletion of said work and rendition ot said service. but not
exceeding a aaxiEua of fifteen (15) weeks.
