A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYING THE LAW FIRM OF HILL, FARRER & BURRILL AS SPECIAL COUNSEL TO ,ASSIST THE CITY A'M'CRNEY IN THE CASES OF CITY OF PLACENTIA YS. CITY OF ANAHEIM, ET AL. AND ROBERT L. ANGLE YS. CITY OF ANAHEIM, ET AL. WHEREAS, a certain action has been commenced by the City of Placentia, a Municipal Corporation, as petitioner, against the City of Anaheim, the members of the City Council and the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, to obtain a Writ of Mandate directing respondents, and each of them, to termi- nate all proceedings concerning Northeast Annexation No.2-A; and WHEREAS, an action has been commenced by Robert L. Angle, for himself and in his representative capacity, as petitioner, against the City of AnaheIm, the City Council and the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, seeking a review of the annexation proceedings had and conducted by the City of Anaheim in the annexation proceedings designated "Northeast Annexation No.2-A"; and WHEREAS, said actions relate to the same annexa- tion proceedings and have been consolidated for hearing and tr!al; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that it is necessary and proper to employ special counsel to assist the City Attorney in presenting the defense of the City, the City Council and the City Clerk in said matters; and does further find that the law firm of Hill, Farrer & Burrill of Los Angeles, California has had special training and experience in such matters and should be employed as such special counsel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the law firm of Hill, Farrer & Burrill, through William S. Scully, Los Angeles, California, be, and it is hereby, employed as special counsel to assist the City Attorney and the City of Anaheim in the preparation for, and the defense of the City of Anaheim and all of the defendants and respondents named in said actions hereinabove mentioned, and to do and perform all things necessary and proper in the defense of said actions. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said law firm of Hill, Farrer & Burrill shall be compensated for its services as follows: -,...-.. For the services of the senior member of said law firm, or William S. Scully, the sum of $40 per hour for time spent out of Court in the prepara- tion for, or defense of said actions; For a Junior assistant in said law firm, at the rate of $30 per hour for time actually spent in the preparation or defense of said actions; -1- ',,- - For the services spent in Court in the defense of said respondents, the sum of $300 per day.
