58R-4644 -- -- RESOLUT ION NO. 4644 I"'"" A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHPJIIIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE REDESIGNING, ALTERATION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A 12 lW SUBSTATION ON THE EAST S IDE OF SOUTH LOS ANGELES STREET, SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-Of-WAY AND NORTH OF ELLSWORTH AVENUE, IN THE CITY Of .DJJAHEIM, WOR!{ ORDER NO. 2513.. \\fHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public convenience and necessity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a public improvement consisting of the redesigning, alteration, construction and completion of a 12 lW Substation on the east side of South Los Angeles Street, So~th of the Southern Pacific Railraod right-of-way and north of Ellsworth Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 2513; and WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and de- termine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on publ ic workll' and im- provements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements, and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of such con- tracts or improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the proviSions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and the public im- provement consi sting of the redes igning, al terati.on, construc- tion and completion of a 12 lW Substation on the east side of South Los Angeles Street, south of the Southern Pacific Rail- road right-of-way and north of Ellsworth Avenue, in the Ci~ of Anaheim, Work Order No. 2513, in the locality in which such work is to be performed, and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for furnishing all plant, labor, ma- terials, services and equipment for the redesigning, altera- tion, construction and completion of a 12 KV Substation on the east side of South Los Angeles Street, south of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way and north of Ellsworth Avenue, Work Order No. 2513, and that said prevailing rates so de- termined are as follows: ~ i -1- CLASS IF I CAT ION Carpenters Electrician General Foreman Electrician Foreman Electrician Wireman Cable Splicer Cable Splicer Foreman Journeyman Lineman Journeyman Wireman Laborer - General or Construction Operators and Tenders of Pneumatic and Electric Tools, Vibrating Machines, and similar Mechanical Tools not separately classified herein Crane Operator Cement Finishers Drivers of Dump Trucks of Less than: 4 yds. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classitications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth pre- vailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being un4erstood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishug the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess ot eight hours in anyone day or during the interval of ttme from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid tor at the minimum rate ot one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.P.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Al'mistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It: any of the above mentioned hOlidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a lasal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under htm to pay not less than the said specitied rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
