\.'IIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
does find and determine that public convenience and neces-
sity require the acc;u~sition or' materials, plant, labor and
services for a public improvemen~ consisting of the construc-
tion and completion of a reinforced concrete vault at the
Southeast corner' of ':'.al1 Road and Lewis Street for Well No.
19, in the City of Anaheim, \vork Order No. 1588; and
WH~H~AS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State
of California requires that the City Council ascertain and
determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and
rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works
ana improvements in tc'e locality in which the work is to be
per'~'ormed, for each craft or tn e of workman, laborer or
mecneTItc needed for the execution of such public contracts

All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be
paiG as provided in the May, 1956 revision of the A.G.C.,
3.C.A., li.3.I., .t;.G.G.A., A..8'.L.-C.I.O. Southern California
Master Labor Agreement.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with
Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code.
The rates of per diem wages for each of the various
classificati_ns of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth
prevailin-; rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. . 'Eight
hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that
in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours
per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per
diem wage herein established that the nllmber of hours of em-
ployment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishi.DfI the rates of overtime
and holiday work shall he in accordan~e with the following:

basic rate of Hac;es, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall
be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of
wages, except as otherwise provided in tne May, 1956 revision
of the A.e}.C., B.G.A., ii.j.I., E.G'.C.A.., A.F.L.-C.I.O.
Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to-shall be deemed to be
New Years Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Armlstice Day, 'I'hanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of
the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanks-
givinc Day, f8.11s on Sunda?, the following Monday shall be
considered a legal holiday.
IT SHALL ~jE HAl~1JAJ'OR,{ upon the contraetor to whom
the cont!'act is awarded and llpon any subcontractor under him
to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all
laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execu-
tion of the contract.
