RESOLUTION NO. 4561
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE-
MENT, TO WIT: FURNISHING AND INSTAT.T.ING ONE
ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN, DEEP WELL, TURBINE TYPE
PUMPING UNIT, I,/WELL NO. 18, IN THE VICINITY

DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion o~ a public improvement in the City o~
Anaheim, to wit:
Furnishing and installing one electrically driven,
deep well, turbine type pumping unit, including
concrete base, in Well No. 18, located in the vicinity
of Orange Avenue and Agate Street, in the City of
Anaheim, California, Work Order No. 1604.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed GeoI::,e E. Hol~oke,
Cit:y F.nginE!E!r to prepare detailed designs, p.ans, pro iles,
drawings and speci~ications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction o~ said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS. said Engineer has prepared said detailed designs,
plans, pro~iles, drawings and speci~ications for the construction o~
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements o~ the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate ~or the con-
struction of said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council o~ the City
o~ Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, pro~iles, drawings and
specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said City Engineer .

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be construc.ted in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by
said City E~&.ine_e-L...._~_._ar1d her-3by appr'oved, and such addenda
or modi~ications thereto 8.S may be approved prior to the award-
ing of bids therefor.
BE rr FURTHER RESOLVED that; the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim be, and she is h8rebY9 authorized and directed to publish
a notl0e ac.(~o!'d:.ng to law" IDvl t~':.ng dealed proposals ~or the fur-
nishing of 8.1:'1.. plant, labor, Ser7:1.CeS, materlals and equipment,
and all utili.ties and tr'anspoy'l:;atlon, including power, ~uel and
water, and perform:.ng all work necessary to construct and complete
in a good 8.!!d workmanLikA manner, 1n stl'lct accordance with said
detailed designs. plans, profi_es, drawings and specifications as
prepar-ad by sRld_ City E1l&..ineeE-"~_, the public improvement here-
inabove mentioned and described, and fixing the 3rd day of

as the date Rnd hour for the opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber's irl the Oi ty Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that
said notice :3hall. be published twice, the first o~ which publica-
tions shall be at least t~n (la) days prior to the date ~ixed ~or
the opening of bids. and that sald publications shall be at least
five (5) days apart.
AND BE 1'1' FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders s1:.al1 be required to enter into a contract with the City
of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney o~
the City of Anahe:l.m for the eODstr,-lCtion, installation and comple-
tion of said public improvement here5nabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and speoifications prepared by said
City En~in.eer. ___' the Dot.;..ce. inv! ting sealed proposals, this
resolut on and all appliJ;8.bci..e OJ. ty Ordinanc,es or Code Sections and
the la'ws of the State of CaLl r,J:rni a~ and shall be required to post
