A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY R$QUlRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE-
MENT, TO WIT: THE NORT&-LOARA ''tUET IXPROVE.-
MEN!, ON NORTH ST., FROM: 1030 F'f. EAS'l OF

AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City or
Anaheim, to wit:
The Nort~Loera Street Improvement, coneistingof
the improvement of North Street, from 1030 feet
east of Loera Street to Loera Street, and of Loera
Street, from 550 feet north of North Street to North
Street, by excavation, paving with four inches of
plant-mix surfacing, adjusting existing manholes to
grade and appurtenant work, as indicated on the plans,
Job No. 189.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed George E. Holyoke.
Cl~~E&E1ne.r to prepare detailed designs, plans, proriles,
dra . ngs and specirlcations, and estimates of quanti ties and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said Eng1neer has prepared said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construction of
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications ror said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements or the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
struction of said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council or the City
or Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said City Engin..r____.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, prof'iles, drawings and specif'ieations as prepared by
said City En~ineer __and hereby approved. and such addenda
or modif'ications thereto as may be approved prior to the award-
ing of' bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of' the City of'
Anaheim be, and she 18 herebY9 authorized and directed to publish
a notice aeeordlng to law9 lnvlting sealed proposals f'or the t'ur-
nishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power, f'uel and
water, and pert'orming all work necessary to construct and complete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specit'lcations as
prepared by said Oi ty E~!:.__, the public improvement here-
inabove mentioned and described, and f'ixing the 22nd day of
MaY , 1.95~, at the hour ot' 2 :00 o'clock p. Mo
as the date Rnd hour f'or the opening of said bids at the City
Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that
said notice shall be publIshed twice, the first ot' which publica-
tions shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date f'ixed for
the opening of bids, and that said publications shall be at least
f'ive (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders stall be requlred to enter into a contract with the City
of Anaheim in the maDDer and form approved by the City Attorney of'
the City ot' Anahe:l.m for the eODstruction, installation and comple-
tion of said public improvement herejnabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by said
City ~~.!U:-.____' the notice invitlng sealed proposals, this
resol~and all applicable City Ordinanoes or Code Sections and
the laws of' the State of' Califo:rnia, and shall be required to post
bonds and insuranc.e in the amounts and within the time required by
law, as specified in the netiC'8 invlting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved. by the City Attorney'l
