RESOLUTION NO. 4479
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE-
MENT, TO WIT: THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE INTER-
SECTION AT PALX STREET AND VERKqNT AVENUE. BY
THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CULVERT, JOB NO,'425 :
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion or a public improvement in the City or
Anaheim, to wit:
The Improvement of the interseotion at Palm Street
and Vermont Avenue, on the south side, by the oon-
struotion of a reinforoed oonorete oulvert, oon-
struction of ourb and gutter, paving with four inches
of plant-mix surfaoing and appurtenant work, as
indioated on the plans, Job No. 187.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Geor~e E. HOl~Ok.,
City Engineer to prepare detailed designs, plans, prof les,
drawings and specirications, and estimates or quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction or said publiC im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said Engineer has prepared said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specirications ror the construction of
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, the City Council rinds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and speCifications ror said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements or the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area ror the purposes
ror which they are intended, and that they are adequate ror the con-
struction or said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Councilor the City
or Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said Oi ty Endnee~.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance wIth said detailed designs,
plans, proriles, drawings and specirications as prepared by
said Oity ~neer and hereby approved, and such addenda
or modi.f'icatTOn-s thereto as may be approved prior to the award-
ing or bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City or
Anaheim be, and she Is hereby, authorized and directed to publish
a notir::e aeco!'ding to law, lrJgit~!lg Bealed proposals for the rur-
nishing of all plant, labor, ser71C:8s, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transpor.tation. including power, ruel and
water, and perform.tng all "Work neeessary to construct and complete
in a good and workman-:..ike manner, :tn strict accordance with said
detailed designs. plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said~ Ci ty E!;lgine~r , the public improvement here-
inabove mentioned and described, and rixing the 15th day or
Kay , 195~__, at the hour or 2 :00 o'clock p. M..
as the date Rnd hQur for the opening or said bids at the City
Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City or Anaheim, and that
sald notice shall be publlshed twice, the n,rst or which publica-
tions shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed ror
the opening of" bIds, and that sald publications shall be at least
five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successrul bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
or Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of
the City or Anaheim ror the eonstr-Jction, installation and comple-
tion or said public improvement herejnabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and Epecifications prepared by said
City Engineer. , the notice invitIng sealed proposals, this
resolution and a11 applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws or the State of Califo:~'nla? and shall be required to post
bonds and insurance in the amount.s and wi thIn the time required by
