RESOLUTION NO. 4816
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROPRIATING CERTAIN
FUNDS FOR ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM; AUTHORIZING A
CONTRACT WI'rH THE ANAHEIM OHAMBER OF
COMMERCE FOR THE DOING OF SAID ADVERTIS-
ING; AND PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION TO
THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR SERVICES TO
BE RE!lDERED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Chamber of Commeroe, located
within the City of Anaheim, has special knowledge, experience
and faoilities for promotion and advertising work) and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be
for the best interest and welfare of the City of Amaheim and
the oitizens thereof to appropriate funds for the promotion
and advertising of the City of Anaheim for the purpose of
inducing the immigration of industry, business and persons to
said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a great deal
of work is required to be done in the development and expan-
sion of industry and that the Chamber of Commerce of the City
of Anaheim is peouliarly fitted and equipped to perform such
work and render such servioes, and that it would be to the
advantage and best interest of the City of Anaheim to employ
the Chamber of Commerce to render said services and to aid in
the promotion, advertising and expansion of industry ih the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that certain sums of money to aid in
the promotion, advertising and expansion of the City of
Anaheim be appropriated and set aside for the following pur-
poses, and in the following amounts, to be expended during
the period oommencing July 1, 1958, and ending June 30, 1959:
For the printing and distribution of maps,
pamphlets, brochures and other printed
material, and for the colleotion and dis-
semination of faotual data, information
and statistios concerning Anaheim, the
sum of .................................. t 7,500.00

For transportation expenses, labor and of-
fioe expenses in the rendition of ser-
vioes in the development and expansion
of industry and in the development and
expansion of a tourist and convention
bureau, the sum of ...................... $ ~.~OO.OO

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Anaheim Chamber of
Commerce be, and it is hereby, employed for the following
purposes and to render the following services:
1. To render servioes in the development and
expansion of industry by obtaining and
furnishing to the City Council information
and data relative thereto.

2. To render services in the development and
distribution of maps, brochures, pamphlets,
and other printed material and the col-
lection and dissemination of factual data,
information and statistics conoerning
Anaheim.
3. To aid in and carryon the work of inducing
immigration of industry, business and persons
to the City of Anaheim.
4. To perform such other services from time to
time as the City may require.
All services to be rendered shall be at the
direction of the City of Anaheim, and all map.,
pamphlets, brochures, and other printed material
shall be submitted to and approved by the City
Administrator of the City of Anaheim before
printing or distribution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fUnds hereinabove
appropriated and set aside shall be paid out upon demands and
shall be supported by a statement of said Anaheim Ch~b.r of
Commerce showing the ~ount of liability incurred as the basls
of said claim. That said demands shall be presented monthly to
the City Council. Any expenses in addition to said amounts set
forth herein shall be paid by said Anaheim Chamber of Commerce.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and direoted to
enter into a written agreement with the Anaheim Chamber of
Commeroe. a copy of which agreementl to be made and entered
into as of the 1st day of July, 195~, and for the term July 1,
1958, to June 30, 1959, both dates inclusive and from month to
month thereafter until terminated by either party, has this day
Deen submitted to the City Council, and which agreement is, by
reference, made a part hereof as fully as if set out in full
herein.
