A RESOLUT ION OF THE C IT'{ COUNC IL OF THE C IT'{ OF
ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NOo 963
r-- WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Ana-..
heim did receive a petition for zoning v.riance from the lessee.
Kunz Sign Company & Broadway Shopping Ce~ter. of certain real property
situated in the City of Anaheim, ~ounty of Orange, State of California,
described as follows~
563 South West Street, Anaheim, California
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on July
7 ,19 5~ i notices of which said public hearing were duly
given as required by law and the provisions of Section 9200.17 of the
Anaheim Manicipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission, after due inspec-
tion, investigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf, and
after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, did adopt Resolution Noo 2 ,Series 19 ~8-~g ,arantin~
Variance xo. q8~. sahl.ct to the cnDdl~fan ~h.~Alft : an
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the date
of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council did elect, upon
its own motion, to review the action taken by the City Planning Com-
mission in ,ranting said variance and did set a public hearing
thereon to be held on the 12th day of Aaaust. 1~58 ,at 7:00
o'clock P.M. in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and notice of
such publIC hearing was duly given as required by law and the provi-
sions of Section 9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that:
I. There is no substantial property right poSsessed by
other property in the same vicinity and !on~ and
denied the subject property.
2. It appears that the subject property can be ade-
quately developed and used under the present zone.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Commission grant-
ing Variance No. 983 requesting permission to erect and maintain one
single-faced IS-foot by 12-foot metal directional sign, on the property
hereinabove described, be and the same is hereby disapproved, and that
Variance No. 983 be, and the same is hereby denied.
