RESOLUT ION NO. 4"94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NOo 1001:5
,..- WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Ana-
heim did receive a petition for zoning variance from the owner.
Thomas L. McLaughlin. of certain real property
situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows~ That portion of Lot 16 of Anaheim Extension, in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, as shown on
a map of survey made by William Hamel and filed in the Office of the
County Recorder of Los Angeles County a copy of which is recorded in
Book 3, Pages 163, et seq., entitled 'Los Angeles County Maps- records
of said Orange County, described as followsl Beginning at a point on the
center line of Placentia Avenue, South 0005'15- West 702.20 feet from the
northeast corner of said lot; thence South 0.05'15R West 136.12 feet
along said center line to an angle point on the,eaaterly line of Tract
No. 2205, as per map recorded in Book 64, Pages 63, et seq., of Miscel-
laneous Maps! in the Offlce of the County Recorder of said county; thence
at right an9 es North 89 54'45R West 50.00 feet to the beginning of a non-
tangent curve concave to the northwest having a radius of 16.00 feet, the
center of which bears North 89054'45R West 16.00 feet from said beginning
of curve; thence southerly, southwesterl~, and westerly 25.13 feet along
said curve through a central angle of 90 OO'OOR to a tangent; thence
North 89054'45- West 94.00 feet; thence North 0005'15- East 101.19 feet
to the north line of the 1 and descr ibed in deed to _ Thomas L. McLaughlin
and wife. recorded July 22, 1954 in Book 2775 Page 596 of Official
Records of said Orange County; thence North 7403514SW East 166.02 feet
along said north line of McLaughlin land to the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS. the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on July
7 , 19 58 j notices of which said public hearing were duly
given as required by law and the provisions of Section 9200.17 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code~ and
WHEREAS, said City Planning CommiSSion, after due inspec-
tion, investigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf, and
after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, did adopt Resolution No. 17 , Series 19 1:58-~g , recOIIIIllen",d-

WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the date
of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council did elect, upon
its own motion. to review the action taken by the City Planning Com-
mission in denying said variance and did set a public hearing
thereon to be held on the 12th day of August. 1956 , at 7:00
o'clock P.M. in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and notice of
such publlc hearing was duly given as required by law and the provi-
sions of Section 9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that:
1. There is no substantial property right possess.d by
other property in the same vicinity and tone and
denied the subject property.
2. It appears that the subject property can be ade-
quately developed and used under the present zone.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Commission deny-
ing Variance No. 1005 requesting permission to erect signs and use the
existing residence on the property hereinabove described for a real
estate office, be, and the same is hereby sustained, and that Variance
No. 1005 be, and the same is hereby denied.
