RESOLUTION NO. 4073
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DElffING VfuqIANCE NO. 796.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a petition from the owner and/or agent of
certain real property situated in the City of Anaheim, County
of Orange, State of California, more particularly described
as follows:
All that certain land situated in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
That portion of the Northwest quarter of the
Southwest quarter of Section 17, Township 4
South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.& M., described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the center line of
Brookhurst Street, said point being the South-
west corner of said Northwest quarter of the
Southwest quarter; thence North 89058'1111 East
along the South line of said Northwest quarter
of the Southwest quarter, 300 feet; thence North
0040'0611 East parallel to said center line of
Brookhurst Street, 124.31 feet; thence South 890
58'1111 West parallel to said South line 300 feet
to a ftoint in said center line; thence South a.
40'06' West along said center line 124.31 feet to
the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon said
petition on August 5, 1957, notices of which said public hearing
were duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the lwaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investi-
gation and studies made by itself and in its behalf, and after
due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, did adopt its Resolution No. 25 - Series 1957-58, recom-
mending to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that Variance
No. 796 be granted upon the conditions therein set forth; and
~~IEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the date
of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council did elect,
upon its own motion, to review the action taken by the City Plan-
nins Con~ission in granting SQid variance and did set a public
hearins thereon to be held on the Jrd day of' September, 1957, at
7:00 o'clock P.M. in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
notice of' such public hear'ine; Has duly given as required by law
and the provisions of Section 9200.17 of the Anaheim T'lunicipal
Code; and

WHEP~S, at the time and place fixed for said public hear-
ing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public hearing
and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be
heard and did receive evidence and reports, and did thereapon con-
sider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and

WHbREAS, af'ter- due investigation and studies made by
itself' and in its behalf', and af'ter due consideration of' all
the evidence and reports of'f'ered at said hearing, the City
Council does f'ind that:
1. There is no substantial property right possessed
by other property in the same vicinity and zone
and denied the subject property.
2. It appears that the subject property can be
adequately developed and used under the present
zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, Bb IT RESOLVED by the City Council of'
the City of Anaheim that the action of' the City Planning Com-
mission granting Variance No. 796, requesting permission to
erect a dry cleaning plant and quick-service f'amily shirt laundry
on the property hereinabove described, be and the same is hereby,
disapproved, and that Variance No. 796 be, and the same is
hereby. denied.
THE FOhEGOING RESOLU':rION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of September, 1957.
