A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIH AUTHORIZHlG AND .DESIGNATING SIGNS
STATING, "SPEED CHECKED BY RADAR," AND
"TRAFFIC LA\'lS STRICTLY 'ENFORCEDA; AND. AUTHOR-
IZING Al1D DIRECTING THE CHlEF OF POLICE TO
OBTAIN AND .INSTALL SUCH SIGNS.

\'lBEREAS, Section Lr65, Subdivision "B"Of the
Californif. Vehicle Code provides that local authorities, in
their res1Jective jurisdiction, shailhaveauthority to place
and maintain, o,r cause to be placed and maintained, such
traffic signs ~s may be necessary to indicate and carry out
the provisions of the California Vehicle Cod~ and local traffic
ordinances, or to regulate, warn or guide traffici and
,fHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 3213,
provides that the City Council shall, by resolution, determine
and designate the character of all official warning and direct-
ional signs and signals; and
'dHEREAS, the City Council finds tr...at to eliminate
traffic hazards and promote the safety and welfare of citizens
ano_ resio.ents 0:( the City of Anaheim signs stating, n SPEED
, CHECKED BY :RADAR,ll and llTRAFFIC LAlvS STRICTLY ENFORCED," should
be obtained, and installed and maintained on certain streets in
the City of An2.heim.
NOVI,~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE-~ by~ theei ty Council of
the City of Ana~eim that the Chief of Police be, and he is,
hereb:' authorized and directed to obtain signs stating, "SPEED
CHECKED BY RADAR, II and "TRAFFIC LAiVS STRICTLY ENFORCED, II and to
install and maintain said signs at locations in the City of
Anaheim where, in his opinion, such signs are necessary to
eliminate traffic hazards ancl -cromote the safety and welfare of
the citizens and residents of the City.
BE IT F'URTHL~R RESOLv.ED that the signs so obtained,
ins tallecl "met maintained shall conform to the r~gula tions of the
C2.1iforni8 Vehicle Code as to size and design.
