A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEI M AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND
INSTALLATION OF ONE DEEP WELL, TURBINE TYPE
PUMPING UNIT IN WELL #~7, IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM, WORK ORDER NO. ~508.
WHEREAS, the City Counci~ does find and determine
that pub~ic convenience and necessity require the purohase and
instal~ation of one e~ectrically driven, deep well, turbine
type pumping unit, to be installed in Wel~ #~7, ~ocated 9 feet
South of the center line of Underhill street and 45 feet West
of the center line of Sunkist Street, in the City of Anaheim,
complying with the fo~lowing specifications:

The outer column pipe 1s to butt squarely in its coup~ing.
The co~umn coupling sha~l be made from extra heavy se...~ess
tubing. The Oil t~be bearings shall be made of bronze
with one bearing to each 5' length of tubing. Bearings to
be threaded externally and fitted in internally threaded
tubing with ends properly faced.
The discharge head shall be made of cast iron or stee~
sole plate and shall be provided with 8" Std. Discharge
Flange, complete with bolts and gaskets.
A Solenoid type oiler shall te provided and provisions
made for locking oil reservoir filler cap.
The pump bowls shall be of close-grained cast iron, having
a minimum tensile strength of 30,000 pounds per square
inch, free from blow holes, sand holes, and all other
faults; accurately machined and fitted to close dimensions.
The impeller shaft shall be of stainless steel of not less
than 12% Chrome. No so-called rustless iron will be oon-
sidered. The impeller shaft shall be supported by water
lubricated bronze bearings on both sides of each impeller.

SCOPE: The equipment covered shall include, without
limi ting the generality thereof, all mechanical,' hydraul-
ic, electrical and miscellaneous equipment for one
electrically driven deep well turbine type pumping unit,
completely installed in Well #17 in the City of Anaheim,
California. Electric wiring, starting equipment and
piping to pump will be furnished and installed by others.
in accordance with the design, plans, profiles, drawings and/or
specifications prepared by the Superintendent of the Light,
Power and Water Department of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, Food Machinery & Chemical Corporation, Peerless
Pump Division has offered to furnish said deep well turbine type
pumping unit complling with said specifications and install the
same within six (6) working days from and after notice of accept-
ance of its offer, for the price of #6,194.00, payable as follows:
Eighty-five (85) per cent of said amount to be paid
upon delivery and completion of the installation of
said pump in Well #17, in the City of Anaheim; and
the remaining fifteen (15) per cent of said amount
to be withheld for a period of thirty (30) days from
and after completion of the installation of said pump
and final acceptance of said work, and the filing of
a notice of completion by the City of Anaheim.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said prioe is
the lowest obtainable for the purchase and installation of said
pump and that the offer of Food Machinery & Chemical Corporation,
Peerless Pump Division should be accepted upon the conditions
hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the offer of Food Machinery & Chemical
Corporation, Peerless Pump Division to sell to the City of
Anaheim and install in Water Well No. 17 owned by the City, one
eleotrioally driven, deep well, turbine type pumping unit, com-
plying with the specifications hereinabove Bet forth, be, and
the same is hereby, accepted upon the following conditions:
1. That said pump shall comply in all respects with
the specifications hereinabove set forth, and
shall be installed in said well within a period
of six (6) working days from and after receipt of
notice from the City of Anaheim of the acceptance
of said offer.

2. That said pump shall be installed in said well
ready for operation, exclusive of piping and wiring,
and starting equipment.
3. That in the installation of said electrically
driven, deep well, turbine type pumping unit in
said Water Well No. 17 it shall be expreSSly
understood and agreed that Food Machinery &
Chemical Corporation, Peerless Pump Division
is acting as an independent contractor and not
as an agent, servant or employee of the City of
Anaheim.
4. That said installation shall be made in accordance
with the specifications and requirements of the
Superintendent of the Light, Water and Power
Department of the City of Anaheim.
