A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF A.NAREIM FIJIDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE-

AND APPROVIRG THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC I~PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR TttE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and neoessity require the con-
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to vi t :
The Placentia-La Palma-Sunkist Sewer Lateral, consist-
ing Of the construction of a V.C.P. sewer lateral in
Placentia Avenue from Sycamore Street to La Palma
Avenue; in La Palma Avenue from Placentia Avenue to
Sunklst Street; and in Sunkist Street from La Palma
Avenue to 1)05 feet North of La Palma Avenue, includ-
ing trenohing, manhole construction, backfill, resur-
facing, and appurtenant work, as indicated on the
plans, Job No. 1099.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Geor~e E. HO~Ok'
C1i1 E~ineef to prepare detailed designs, pans, pro 11es,
drangs and specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said 1ifP8inee~ has prepared said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings an specifications for the construotion of
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plana, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
struction of said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications tor said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said 01 ty Eng1nee~.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, prof'iles, drawings and specif'ications as prepared. by
saldOi t~ Ens~neer and hereby approved;, and such addenda
or m6dil cations thereto as may be approved prior to the award-
ing of' bids theref'or. '

Anahelm be, and-she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish
a no~lce acco~rling to law, inviting sealed proposals f'or the fur-
niSl'ln!g ot' all plant, labor, serTices, materials and equipment,
and all utl1ities and transportation, includ1ngpower, ruel and
water, and perf'orming all work necessary to construct and complete
in a good andwor~anlike manner, in strict accordance witn said
detailed d6Sigtls, plans,' prot'iles, drawings and specit'ications as
prepared by said City '~lneer , the public improvement here-
ina. bove mentioned and described, and f'ixing the ~th day ot'
~ , 1952 ,at the hour of' 7:0 o'clock P. M.
~e date and hour t'or ~opening ot' said bids at the City
Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of' Anaheim, and that
said. notice shall be published twice, the t'irst of' which publica-
tions shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date f'ixed f'or
the o~ening ot bids, and that said publications shall be at least
f'ive (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder Or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
of' Anaheim in the manner and t'orm approved by the City Attorney of'
the City of' Anaheim t'or the construction, installa~ion and comple-
tion of' said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and desoribed,
in accordance with the plans and specii'icationa prepared by said
aiV-. EIUrlnee~ ' the notice in vi ting sealed proposals, thi s
reSOLution an all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws of' the State of' Calii'ornia, and shall be required to post
bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by
law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
