A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO
BE MADE AND ENTERED INTO BET\'iEEN NORTHROP
AIRCRAFT, INC., AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
RELATING TO THE DEPUTIZING OF GUARDS FOR
SAID COHPANY AND AUTHORIZING THE ~1AYOR
PRO TEM AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
AGREEi<1ENT.
t~EREAS, many employees of Northrop's Anaheim
Division enter and leave the Northrop property in the City
of Anaheim by way of Orangethorpe Avenue; and
w~REAS, it is desirable to use Northrop guards
to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing that
portion of Orangethorpe Avenue which borders said Northrop
property and to have such guards deputized by the City of
Anaheim as officers of the Anaheim Police Department for
the purpose of investing them with adequate legal author-
ity to direct traffic at that location; and
WHEREAS, NORTHROP AIRCRAFT, INC., has submitted
to tne City on this date an Agreement to be made and enter-
ed into by and between said company and the City of Anaheim
provid.in~; for the deputizinc; of such guards and providing
for adequate insurance coverage to protect the City against
all claims for damage or injury arising by reason of any
negligence, act or omission by said guards, and the City
Council does find thEt said Agreement is fair and reasonable
and should be aoproved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that said Agreement above mentioned
be, anQ the same is hereby, aoproved and the Hayor Pro Tern
and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said
Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved
by me this 18th d.ay of June, 1957.
