RESOLUTION NO. #3801
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINtNG THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY R~QUIRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PWBLIC IMPROVE-
MENT, TO WIT: THE HARBOR BOULEV.(l.RD SEWER
IMP.ao~NT, FROM KATELLA AVENU' TO 1840 FEET
SOU'lH OF KATF.I.1.A A VENUE. JOB NO r 1096 ;
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLAN$, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CQNSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to wit:
The Harbor Boulevard Sewer Improvement, oonsisting
of the construction of a vitrified clay pipe and a
cast iron pipe in Harbor Boulevard from Katella
Avenue to 1840 feet south of Katella Avenue, inoluding
tranchlng, manhole construction, backfill, resurfacing
and appurtenant work, as indioated on the plans,
Job No, 1096.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Geor~e E. Holyoke,
City Engineer, to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and speoifications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said E~lneer has prepared said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construction of
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering praotice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
struction of said pUblic improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said City En~ineer_.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with $aid detailed designs,
plans, proriles, drawings and specifications as prepared by
said Oit! Enfin.er and hereby approved, and such addenda
or modi~ cat ons thereto as may be approved prior to the award-
ing or bids therefor.
BE I'!' FUR'l'HER RESOLVED that the city Clerk or the City of
Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorize~ and directed to publish
a notioe according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the fur-
nishing or all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, indluding power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed designs, plans, proriles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said City Engineer , the public improvement here-
inabove mentioned and described, and rixing the 26rd day of
~11 , 1951---, at the hour of 7:0 o'clock p. M.
~the date and hour for the opening or said bids ~t the City
Couneil Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that
said notice shall be published twioe, the rirst of which publica-
tions shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date rixed ror
the opening ot: bids, and that said publications shall be at least
rive (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of
the City or Anaheim ror the construction, installation and comple-
tion of said publiC improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by said
Cl~F.~1ne.p , the notice inviting sealed proposals, this
resolut~on and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws or the State or Calirornia, and shall be required to post
bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by
law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a rorm approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was approved and signed by me this
