A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AiJTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND ACQUI-
SITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Anaheim Boys' Center, Inc., a California
Corporation, is the owner of the hereinafter described real
property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California; and
WHEREAS, said owner has offered to sell said property
to the City of Anaheim for the sum of $35,860.00, cash, lawful
money of the United States, $9,000.00 of which is to be deposited
in escrow at Grover Escrow Corporation, 111 South Illinois Street,
Anaheim, California, and the balance amounting to the sum of
$26,86c.oo is to be paid directly to the seller at the close of
said escrow; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
public convenience and necessity require the purchase and acqui-
sition of said real property for publiC purposes, and that the
price which t~e owner thereof is willing to accept is reasonable
and not out of proportion to the fair market value of said
property.
NOW, THERE~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the offer of Anaheim Boys' Center, Inc.,
a California Corporation, to sell said real property situated
in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows, to wit:
Lot 22 of the Oriainal Town of Anaheim as shown
on a map in Book 4, Pages 629 and 630 of Deeds
in the Office of the County Rzcorder of Los
Angeles County.
EXCEPTING THEREfROM the following described
portion of said Lot 22: The Southerly 106.50
feet of the Westerly 55.50 feet of the Easterly
75.20 feet.
for the sum of $35,860.00, cash, lawful money of the United
States, $9,000.00 of which is to be deposited in escrow and
the balance amounting to $26,860.00 to be paid directly to
the seller at the close of escr~w, as hereinabove specified,
be and ths same is hereby accepted, subject to the following
terms and conditions:

That subject property shall be conveyed to the City
of Anaheim free and clear of all encumbrances except
all general and special taxes for the fiscal year
1957-58, and taxes which are not yet due, including
special district levies, payment of which is in-
cluded therein and collected therewith; and all
covenants, conditions, restrictions, reservations,
rights, rights of way and easements of record.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, to sign escrow instruc-
tions for the purchase of said real property and to enter into

scrow with the owner of said property at the Grover Escrow
oration, 111 South Illinois Street, Anaheim, California;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer
be, and she is hereby, authorized to deposit in escrow at
Grover Escrow Corporation, 111 South III inois Street, Anaheim,
California, the sum of $9,000.00 cash, lawful money of tm
United States, to be paid to the owner of said real property
when a deed conveying said property to the City of Anaheim
free and clear of all encumbrances, except as hereinabove
set forth, can be recorded ann a policy of title insurance
issued by a reputable title company showing said property
vested in the City of Anaheim as hereinabove specified; and
that upon the close of escrow the City Treasurer be, and she
is hereby authorized to pay to the seller the sum of $26,860.00
on demand.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the seller 31all pay
the usual and customary seller's charges for furnishing a
policy of title insurance necessary to show title vested in the
City of Anaheim, as herein provided, and th~t the City of
Anaheim shall pay the usual buyerts share in the purchase of
said property.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 2nd day of April, 1957.
