AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REPEALING

ANU ENACTING A NEW TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.28,.
SECTION 18 -.28.050(10 -)'RELATING TO ZONING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES bRDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTI'ON 1.
That Title '18, Chapter. 18.28, Section 18.28.050 (10)'
of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, .and the 'same is hereby
repealed.
"SECTION 2.
That -Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and
the same is hereby amended by adding to Title'18-, Chapter.
18.28, .Section 18.28'.050(10). to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 18.28 - "R-2" MULTIPLE -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE
18.28.050(10) - OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS
(a) Minimum Number and Type of Parking Spaces:
1. For one -family dwellings; -not less than
the minimum number and type of parking
spaces -as required in the RS=500.0 one -
family residential zone.'
2. For Multiple -Family Dwellings; each dwelling
unit shall be provided withnot less
than the following number of parking
spaces, .at least one '(1) of which shall
be covered or enclosed.
a. Units with -one or less bedrooms:
1.5 spaces
b. Units with two bedrooms:
2.0 .spaces
c. Units with three or more bedrooms:
2.25 spaces
For purposes -of interpretation of this
Section,- -all rooms other than a livinct
room, dining room,- bathroom, hall lobby,
closet, .or' pantry shall be considered as
a bedroom.- Further,.in computing park-
ing requirements,- fractional requirements
shall be rounded off to. the nearest whole
number. Fractions of .5 or more being
counted as one (1) full space.

(b.). Minimum Dimensions of Parking Spaces.;- shall be
not less than the following:
1. Covered. spaces, minimum interior dimensions
of ten (1.0). feet in width .and twenty (2.0).
feet in length and having a clear access
width of nine (9) feet.
2.- Open spaces: Eight -and one-half- '(8. 1/2).
feet wide and nineteen (19) feet :long.
Required Enclosure 'of Carports., All carports
shall be enclosed on three (3.)' sides. provided
that when built in combination of two (2.) or
more 'adjacent spaces.,- only the 'rear of the
carports -and two.' (2.). ends need be 'enclosed
except .as the Uniform Building Code may other-
wise require. All -interior walls -of carports:-
shall- be finished with ekter.ior-.--material.
General storage cabinets., and one hundred (100.).
cubic feet. per car space minimum capacity,..shall-
be provided within each'carportor conveniently
located thereto:. Adequate bumper guards shall
be :provided to. protect the interior walls of
carports. -from damage.:
(d) Maximum Distance'Between Parking Spaces -'and
Dwelling Units..- Each- .required enclosed or
covered parking space shall be within two -
hundred (20.0.). -feet .of and readily accessible
to the unit it serves.. -
(e) Required Screening of Parking Facilities.
Parking facilities shall- be.screened by
means -of plant landscaping or architectural
devices from adjacent :properties and from
living and- recreational -leisure areas and
from adjacent :streets. -
(f.) : Vehicle Access -Requirements-., ' Every apartment
and/or dwelling unit shall -be located within
two hundred (20.0). feet .of, .and be :served by,
such public or private .acces.sways that will
provide adequateaccessand circulation for
pedestrian and for.vehicular traffic,.includ-
ing fire,' utility,. trash 'collection and other
essential services.
(g) All vehicular accessways shall permit a
minimum .turning radius of twenty-five _(25.)
feet.
(h)' Where 'a building site.:abuts: upon an alley, all
vehicular access to: crarages. -and carports :shall
be 'from the alley only.

'SECTION 3.
SEVERABILITY. The City Council of the -City of Anaheim
hereby declares that should- any section, paragraph,' sentence or
word of this chapter of the Code hereby adopted be declared for
any reason to be invalid,'it is -the intent of the Council that
it would have passed all other portions -of this chapter indepen-
dent -of th-d elimination herefrom of any such,portion as may be
declared invalid.
'SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall- certify to. the passage of this
ordinance and -shall cause :the 'same 'to be printed.once within
fifteen (15) days after.'its..adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper . of general -circulation, .printed., .published and cir-
culated in said City.,.. and thirty, (19). days from azd after its -
final passage it shall take effect -and be in fall force.
