66-801WHEREAS, on December 5, 1966, the City Planning
Commission did duly pass and adopt its Resolution No. PC66 -168,
recommending to the City Council that in order to create less
confusion to the public and give continuous streets the same
name between County and City territories, the name of Taylor
Street, in the City of Anaheim, should be changed to Lakeview
Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said change of
name has been recommended by the Orange County Street Naming
Committee and that a similar recommendation is being made to
the Orange County Board of Supervisors to change the name of
Taylor Street to Lakeview Street, within the jurisdiction of
the County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter, the
City Council does find that the assignment of the name "Lakeview
Street" to Taylor Street, in the City of Anaheim, will result
in less confusion to the public, and that by reason of the fore-
going facts public convenience and necessity require that said
name be changed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the name of Taylor Street, in the City
of Anaheim, extending from a point approximately 400 feet north
of Walnut Street northerly for a distance of 389 feet, be, and
the same is hereby changed to Lakeview Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Orange County Planning
Commission be urged to change the name of Taylor Street within
the jurisdiction of the County of Orange, from the Riverside
Freeway on the south to Mariposa Avenue on the north, to Lakeview
Street.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
