A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'IY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATER PIPE AND F ITT INGS
IS NECESSARY FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT; APPROV-
ING THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF; AND DIRECTING
THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURNISHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public convenience and necessity require the purchase
and acquisition of cast iron water pipe and fittings for
use by the Water Department of the City of Anaheim in the
amounts hereinafter specified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that
the specifications prepared and submitted to the City
Council by the Superintendent of tight, Power and Water
for said pipe and fittings, entitled "Specifications for
Cast Iron Water Pipe, Series of 1957 -- City of Anaheim,"
are adequate for the purpose and should be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that a notice should be published inviting sealed.proposals
for the furnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts
hereinafter specified, and in accordance with the specifica-
tions prepared by said Superintendent of Light, Power and
Water and hereby approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that all cast iron water pipe and
fittings hereinafter specified shall conform to the specifica-
tions therefor prepared by the Superintendent of the Light,
Power and Water Department of the City of Anaheim and herein-
above approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that 1here shall be pur-
chased for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim cast
iron water pipe and fittings in the following approximate
quantities, and of the following sizes and descriptions:

5,000 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe;
5,000 feet of 8 inch cast iron pipe;
ITEM III 10,000 feet of 10 inch cast iron pipe;

ITEM IV 10,000 feet of 12 inch cast iron pipe;

30,000 pounds of cast iron fittings.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be,
and she is hereby, aut~orized and directed to publish a notice
in the Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form as required
by law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said
pipe and fittings above described, and notifying all pro-
spective bidders that said sealed proposals will be received
at the Office of the City Clerk in the City of Anaheim not
later than 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the 29th day of January,
1957;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOlVED that said notice shall
be published on the 11th and 18th days of January, 1957.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 8th day of January, 1957.
