RESOLUTION NO. 63R- 278
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING SUPPORT OF SENATE
BILL NO. 778.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
recognizes the ever growing needs for adequate supplies of
water for the inhabitants and landowners within the Orange
County Water District; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 778 provides for amend-
ments to the Orange County Water District Act, which said
amendments authorize the following: The incurring of
indebtedness and the issuing of bonds for the purposes of
constructing and maintaining water reclamation and salvage
projects and acquiring real and personal property for such
projects; the levy of assessments sufficient to meet pay-
ments of principal and interest -on said bonded indebtedness;
and the use of funds derived from general assessments in
the improvement and acquisition of new facilities as well
as the replenishing of water supplies in such ratio as the
Board of Directors of the District shall determine; and
WHEREAS, the above amendments provide for greater
efficiency and effective water supply to users within the
Orange County Water District; and
WHEREAS, the current and anticipated growth of
Southern California demands the revisions herein described
and said revisions be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that it does hereby endorse and
support Senate Bill No. 778 and urge that the members of
the California State Legislature from Orange County give
their support and aid to the passage of said legislation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of
this resolution be prepared and sent to the Honorable John A.
Murdy, Jr., State Senator, and to the Honorable William E.
Dannemeyer, the Honorable James E. Whetmore and the Honorable
Robert E. Badham, State Assemblymen from Orange County.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 9th day of April, 1963.
