63-0571RESOLUTION NO. 63R- 571 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS AND THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, EL TORO, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, in conjunction with the efforts of the County of Orange, the Cities of Orange County, including the City of Anaheim, and the business and civic leaders of Orange County, to gain recognition of Orange County as a Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area by the Committee on Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas, Bureau of the Budget, Office of the President of the United States, it was imperative that Mr. Frank Cisar, as the representative of said committee be afforded a bird's -eye view of Orange County as an "on site" inspection of the area; and WHEREAS, the United States Marine Corps with its faci- lities at Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, (Santa Ana) Califor- nia, has always demonstrated its interest in community affairs by participation in community activities to the fullest extent of its capacity; and WHEREAS, again the United States Marine Corps did demon- strate its spirit of cooperation with local governments and civic leaders by making its helicopter facilities available for the pur- pose of affording Mr. Frank Cisar of the Committee on Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas, a complete and expeditious "Bird s -eye" view of the Orange County area; and WHEREAS, Colonel Carlson and Major McShane, both of the United States Marine Corps, demonstrated the highest degree of courtesy and cooperation with the County of Orange, the Cities of Orange County and the civic leaders of Orange County, in handling arrangements of the Marine Corps facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby express its formal appreciation to the United States Marine Corps, to the officers and men of the Marine Corps Air Facility, El Toro, California, to the officers and men of AIRFMFPAC, MCAS, El Toro, California, and in particular to Colonel Carlson and Major McShane of the United States Marine Corps.
