A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM RESCINDING RESOLUTIONS NOS. )039
AND 3256 PROHIBITING PARKING ON STATE HIGHWAY
NO. 174 (SANTA ANA FREEWAY) IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM, AND DIRECTING THE REMOVAL OF h NO
PARKING AT ANY TIMEIl SIGNS POSTED ALONG SAID
HIGHWAY.
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore on December 1),
1955 ado~t Resolution No. )0)9 prohibiting parking on State Highway
No. 174 lSanta Ana Freeway), between Loara Street and Broadway
Street in the City of Anaheim, and did thereafter adopt Resolution
No. 3256 prohibiting parking along said State Highway No. 174
(Santa Ana Freeway). from Loara Street to Euclid Avenue. and from
Broadway Street to Santa Ana Street, in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, a new Freeway or State Highway bas been oon-
structed parallel to said old State Highway No. 174 (Santa Ana
Freeway), and a portion of said old highway from a point just north
of Lincoln Avenue to a point just south of Santa Ana Street bas
been abandoned by the State and is no longer a portion of State
Highway No. 174; and
WHEREAS, the traffic on said abandoned portion of the old
State Highway No. 174, known as Manchester Avenue. bas been materi-
ally reduced by reason of the opening of the new Freeway and it is
no longer necessary to prohibit parking of motor vehicles on said
portion of the old State Highway, known as Manchester Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that Resolution No. )0)9, prohibiting the parking
of motor vehicles on State Highway No. 174 (Santa Ana Freeway)
between Loara Street and Broadway Street, and Resolution No. )256.
prohibiting the parking of motor vehicles upon said State Highway
No. 174 (Santa Ana Freeway), from Loara Street to Euclid Avenue,
and from Broadway Street to Santa Ana Street be, and the same are
hereby, rescinded.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of
Streets be, and he is hereby, authorized to remove the UNo Parking
at Any Timell signs heretofore posted on said State Highway, known
as Manohester Avenue, between the points designated in .aid Reso-
lutions Nos. )0)9 and )256.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this )rd day of Deoember. 1957.
