63-0869RESOLUTION NO. 63R- 869 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING A GENERAL PLAN FOR SAID CITY. WHEREAS, heretofore on July 15, 1963, and pursuant to Resolution No. 834, Series 1963 -64, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim adopted a General Plan for the City of Anaheim and recommended that said plan be adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after receiving said recom- mendation, held public hearings as required by law, at which testimony was taken; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore carefully considered all evidence presented concerning said General Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council, as a result of such consider- ation, finds and determines that said General Plan complies with all appropriate provisions of law; and WHEREAS, more particularly the City Council finds and determines that the General Plan consists, in part, of a Map which designates the proposed general location and extent of various land uses within that portion of the City of Anaheim located north and west of the Santa Ana River; and WHEREAS, the City Council by this resolution intends to reaffirm the basic principle of said General Plan that the location and extent of various land uses, as well as the boundaries of said uses shown on said Map, are general in nature and that said boundaries are not to be considered as hard and fast lines of demarcation; and WHEREAS, the City Council by this resolution intends to reaffirm the further basic principle of the General Plan that said Plan and Map does not constitute zoning of any land within the City, nor does said Map showing the general distri- bution and extent of land uses within the City in any manner indicate what ultimate actual use may be made of said land since such ultimate actual use is to be determined by future zoning actions of said City, but rather said Map is to be regarded as indicating the present belief of the Council as to possible future development and redevelopment of existing land within the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby adopts a General Plan for the City of Anaheim, and does declare that the General Plan consists of: (1) A true and correct copy of the map showing that area within the City limits of the City of Anaheim lying north and west of the Santa Ana River, which map is entitled "The General Plan, City of Anaheim, California, and which map presently is located in the City Council Chambers and -1- STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE ss. WILLIAMS, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 63R -869 was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting provided by law, of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the 5th day of November, 1963, by the following: vote of the members thereof: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Dutton, Chandler, Schutte, Krein and Coons NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim approved and signed said Resolution No. 63R -869 on the 5th day of November, 1963. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in order that the General Plan shall at all times be current with the needs of the City of Anaheim, and in order that the General Plan shall represent the long- range, comprehensive, and general physical development policies of the City of Anaheim in the light of changing condi- tions, the Planning Commission shall, pursuant to Section 65541 of the Government Code, annually review the General Plan and recommend to the City Council such amendments, changes, exten- sions, or additions as it deems advisable; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 65540 of the Government Code, the Planning Commission shall investi- gate and make recommendations to the City Council upon reasonable and practical means for putting into effect the General Plan, in order that it will serve as a pattern and guide for the orderly physical growth and development of the City and as a basis for the efficient expenditure of public funds.
