63-0120RESOLUTION NO. 63R -120 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT, OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF REST ROOM FACILITIES, TYPE "C", IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public convenience and necessity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a public improvement consisting of the construction and completion of rest room facilities, Type "C", in the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and im- provements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of such public contracts or improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works, and the public improvement consisting of the construction and completion of rest room facilities, Type "C" in the City of Anaheim, in the locality in which such work is to be performed and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts for furnishing all plant, materials, labor, services and equipment for the public improvement con- sisting ofthe construction and completion of rest room facili- ties, Type "C", in the City of Anaheim, and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows: 1 CLASSIFICATION RATE PER HOUR Carpenters 4.10 Cement Mason 4.04 Iron Workers: Reinforcing Ironworker Structural Ironworker Laborers: General or Construction Laying of all non metallic pipe, including sewer pipe, dr.:in pipe and underground tile Making and Caulking of all non metallic pipe joints Teamsters: Driver of Dump Truck of less than 4 yds. water level 4 yds. but less than 8 yds. water level Driver of Transit -Mix Truck Under 3 yds. Driver of Transit -Mix Truck 3 yds. or more Electricians: Electrician Foreman Journeyman Wireman Glazier Lather Painters: Painter Foreman 25 per hour above Journeyman Rate Brush 4.21 Spray Gun or Sandblaster 4.46 Pipe Trades: Plumber and Steamfitter Foreman 10% above gross Journeyman rate 4.83 Plumber Plasterers: Plasterer Foreman 4.72 Plasterer 4.345 Plaster Tender 4.25 Roofers: Foreman 4.75 Journeyman 4.40 Sheet Metal Workers: Sheet Metal Foreman 107 above Journeyman Rate Sheet Metal Worker Tile Setters: Tile Setter Tile Setter Helper Welders Same wage scales as crafts to which welding is incidental Any classification omitted herein not less than Plus Health and Welfare where required. Plus fringe labor costs as set forth in Southern California Master Labor Agreement dated January, 1963. Wage scale given is subject to negotiations now in progress and approved increases effective during construction period. -2- 4.50 4.75 3.26 3.57 3.45 3.72 3.75 3.96 4.10 5.72 5.44 4.24 4.345 4.75 4.55 3.78 2.86 All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the January, 1963 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements. The foregoing wage scale and rates are for an eight hour day, forty -hour week, time and one -half for overtime and double time Sundays and holidays, except as otherwise provided in the January, 1963 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements, which shall govern for such over- time and double time pay, and for the wage scale for foremen not otherwise listed above. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday. The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday night, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half (1) times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the January, 1963 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements. Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed above may be employed upon such public improvements with skilled workmen, subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the wage rates for such apprentices to be determined as provided in said Sec- tion 1777.5.
