78-187RESOLUTION NO. 78R- 187 A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, .REQUESTING THE COMMNECEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXA- TION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SANTA. ANA CANYON ANNEXATION N0. b. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires. to annex into its boundaries certain unincorporated and uninhabited. territory as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proposed annexation is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; and WHEREAS, said City desires this resolution to be deemed a resolution of application proposing a change of organization pursuant to Sections 35140 and 35110 of the Government Code of the State. of California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: 1. That the within proposal is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act. of 1977 as set forth in Title 4, Division 2, Part 2 of the :Government .Code of the State of California. 2. That the nature of the proposed. change of organization is for the annexation of the hereinafter. described 143.29 acres: of unincorporated and uninhabited territory to the City of Anaheim. 3. That said unincorporated and. uninhabited. territory be, and the same is hereby, designated as "Santa Ana Canyon Annexation No. 6" to the City of Anaheim, and the boundaries of said affected territory are as legally described in Exhibit "A" attached: hereto and as shown on the map. marked Exhibit "B" attached hereto, both of which exhibits are incorporated herein by this reference.. 4. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization are as follows: a. The territory is composed entirely of publicly owned property consisting of portions of a river channel and a freeway right-of-way which are adjacent to the existing City boundaries on the north and west; and -1- b. Residential development is currently occurring on the southerly boundary of said unincorporated territory; and Q,~.. c. The proposed annexation would consti- tute a logical adjustment of City boundaries to encompass an area bounded by present and anticipated residential development. 5. That the City of Anaheim is hereby designated as the .chief petitioner with regard to this application and the mailing address of said petitioner is as follows: City of Anaheim c/o Planning Director P.O. Box 3222 Anaheim, California 928C3 6. That the City of Anaheim does. hereby request that annexation proceedings be taken and commenced for a change of organization in connection with the hereinabove described unincorporated territory pursuant to the provisions of said Municipal Organization Act of 1977. Page 2 E X N ~ $ i'r' .'~.~ PROPOSED SANTA ANA CANYON NO. 6 ANNEXATION TO CITY OF ANAHEIM That certain parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southerly Line of the Esperanza-Carrillo Annexation to the .City of Anaheim, said point of beginning being in the northeasterly corner of the Santa Ana Canyon No. 4 Annexation to the City of Anaheim; thence leaving said Santa Ana Canyon No. 4 Annexation boundary line and following along a portion of the southerly annexation boundary line of said Esperanza-Carrillo Annexation, the following courses and distances: N 60° 38' 00" E, 385.925 feet to the beginning of a non tangent curve concave southeasterly and having a radius of 10,220.00 feet, a radial line bearing S 29° 22' 00" E passes through said point; thence Northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 9° 37' S3" an arc distance of 1,717.98 feet to a point, a radial line bearing N 19° 44' 07" W passes through said point; thence S 29° 22' 00" E, 1.26.53 feet to the southeasterly corner of that certain parcel of land designated as Parcel No. C-2622-1 as shown on a State R/W Map No. F-1840 on file in the Office of the County Surveyor of said County as File No. 9053; thence leaving said annexation boundary line and following along the boundary lines of the various parcels all shown on said State R/W Map No. 1840, the following courses and distances: S 29° 22' 00" E, 561.88 feet: S 86° 31' 48" E, 256.92 feet: S 0° 19' 33" E, 667.86 feet: S 67° 30' 44" W, 43.47 feet to the beginning of a non tangent curve concave northeasterly and having a radius of 1,200 feet, a radial line bearing S 22° 29' 16" E passes through said point of beginning of curve; thence Northwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 27° 30' 53" an arc distance of 576.27 feet; thence Page 1 EXH18~T''A'
