78-161RESOLUTIOi~I N0. 78R- 1.~_ A RESOLUTIOiv OF THE CITY COU1CIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, THE CITY OF GARDEN GROVE AND THE CITY OF STANTON RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN A JUVENILE DIVERSION/ TREATMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the United. States Congress by Public Law 93-83 passed the Crime Control Act of 1973 whereby certain funds were made available to help in the area of administra- tion of justice and prevention of crime; .and WHEREAS, .funds have been allocated to the State of California which in turn has made said funds available under the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) to various communities in the state; and WHEREAS, the City of Garden Grove has filed an application with the Orange County Criminal Justice .Council dated January 16, 1976, requesting certain funds pursuant to Public Law 93-83; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim entered into an agreement dated June 15, 1976, with the Cities of Garden Grove and Stanton relating to services to be provided, funds to be allocated and the formula to be applied in carrying out the purposes designated in said application; and WHEREAS, upon the expiration of said agreement, on the 28th day of June, 1977, .the participating Cities extended said agreemient to September 30, 1977 and again to December 31, 1977; and WHEREAS, the said Agreement expired on the 31st day of December, 1877; and WHEREAS, the Cities now desire to enter into a new agreement with respect to the Juvenile Diversion/Treatment Program to cover the period from January 1, 1878, through August 31, 1978; and WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared, the terms and conditions of which are acceptable to the City. of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for the benefit and in the best interests of the City to approve the proposed agreement .between the City of Anaheim, -1- the City of Garden Grove and the City of Stanton providing for participation of the City of Anaheim in said Juvenile Diversion/Treatment Program, upon the terms and conditions set forth in said agreement. ""~` NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that said agreement this day submitted to the City Council to be made and entered into between the City of Anaheim, the City of Garden Grove and the .City of Stanton relating to participation in the Juvenile Diversion/ Treatment Program upon the terms and conditions set forth in said agreement be, and the .same is hereby, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are .authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
